Hi
We came back a fortnight ago. We stayed for a fortnight and I just could not spend my money. We have no children with us which make a big difference. We used the local transport to get out and about and also booked trips. We ate as well as we wanted. For example chicken and chips and two drinks was 15 levs but we also spent alot more on other nights. This is the first time I have brought money home. We went to Golden Sands two years ago and I prefer that resort to Sunny beach. Simply because every time I went out in Sunny beach I got lost. I would not eat at the Chuchura, near to the Trakia hotel, if I have spelt it right. It was 15 levs to eat all you could with local drinks as well. I was disappointed with it. When we got in the restuarant we discovered it was the all inclusive for the Trakia and it was very busy and noisy and the chicken was not cooked.
You could actually get a beer for 89 stotinki just down for McDonalds on the way to the Royal Mall. Cocktails could be had at happy hour for about 7 levs for two. Occasionally we never looked at prices and always felt ripped of when we did that. For example 7 levs for a beer and a glass of wine.
I enjoy Bulgaria and if I got a good deal would go back to Sunny beach but I prefer Golden Sands.
By the way we stayed at the Smoylan. Back of the resort near the bus station. I would recommend this hotel. Clean etc. but the staff could have been a bit more friendlier.
Dee
