we are flyig from Leeds Bradford via Amsterdam to Washington in October.
There is an advanced passenger form to hand in at checkin which we assume we do at Leeds but assume that all security questions will be asked at Amsterdam before boarding the flight. In that case do we have to recheckin or is it the normal sysrtem of going to a transfer desk then to the gate. Last time we flew to the States from Manchester we spent 5 minutes answering questions about our luggage before we were able to proceed to the check in desk.
Are you flying with KLM on both legs or a Sky Team partner? If so, you'll check-in at LBA and get your boarding cards for both legs so you just need to transfer in AMS. Hand the API form in when you check-in at Leeds and that should be it. If you are connecting to a different operator that isn't a codeshare partner (unlikely in your case), you'll have to collect your luggage and check-in with that airline and hand the form in then.

thanks for that - it was just at manchester we were quizzed by us airways staff before we checked in
