It certainly was a lovely day yesterday Lynn . Anyone holidaying in the UK this week has struck lucky :)

But only if they're staying south of Brimingham! Up here on the east coast of Scotland we've had rain in the middle of every single day this week. Tippling down now even as I type :(

You should move over here to the West coast SMa where it is dry & sunny every day :rofl

I am glad you had a smashing day, the beach and weather look lovely, all I need now is an ice cream :tup

And no doubt the pigs are out flying past your window making the most of the sunny weather ;)

Did you get the gales as well yesterday SMa, I live on the East coast of Scotland as well and I feel sorry for anyone taking their holidays here this week :(

Even NW England has been rough. Yes it has been bright with some blue sky (but not always dry) and it's managed to get over 20 degrees for the first time in a month but we've had strong winds (around Force 5) all week. It blew down my tomato plant shelter on Saturday night, I fixed it on Sunday and have come home today to find it on next door's garden!!

Yes, Londongirl, we had very strong winds too - I live close to the sea and commute by train. The station is right by the beach and it was really quite cold! And smelly because of the seaweed brought in by the tide :(

yes, my local beach (I can see the sandunes from the beach and hear the sea from work) was packed the other day.

I'm rather envious seeing that picture of a crowded beach. I'm from central Scotland and the past few days ( weeks in fact) I have spent looking at my waterlogged garden! The children returned to school this week and I hoped that we would have a change in the weather ( school holidays usually a washout and sun starts to shine at beginning of new term -how ironic) but alas not yet!

Just popped on the UK thread as I'm looking for some info on Newcastle, and the heading of this thread caught my eye! I live in Spain and if I knew how to post pictures I could show you some of a Costa del Sol beach, that I took on Friday, far, far less crowded than yours! :sun2

I just wanted to say please don't think all the beaches in Spain are crowded like that! :cheers

I upload my photos on photobucket and than using the [IMG] and [/ IMG] links paste photos online?

Ok, tried to put them on but they have too many pixels!

Hopefully that's the final one on now!

Saw a picture of a beach in Bournemouth in the newspaper today. Unbelievably crowded.

It's Caleta beach in Velez Malaga. It's on the eastern side between Nerja and Torre del Mar.

That areas never really crowded you want to try Blanes now that is packed on a Saturday --Sardines in a can have more room

The only reason the beaches in Spain are not over crowded and the UK ones are is the fact that everyone decided to holiday in the UK this year :tup

It might all change next year though if we do not get some better weather during the school holidays........
