New Year in Alvor

Can anyone give me any ideas what Alvor is like over new year is it worth booking is it busy? Are all the restauraunts and shops open down by the harbour all open? Also what is PDR like over new year. I know weather can be hit and miss which doesn't bother us but dont want to turn up at a deserted ghost town.

We were in the Algarve for New Year this year and stayed with friends near Armacao de Pera. We visited Alvor one day and there were lots of bars and restaurants open and saw very few closed. It certainly did not look like a ghost town but this was just based on one day. Maybe others will be able to give more info.

Thanks for the reply, what was the weather like for you over new year? I love alvor just didn't want to go over new year and there not be many places open thats all. I am not really bothered if its quiet to be honest. Just would be nice to get away over new year and chill
