You will find that a lot of hotels in Sharm have animation teams paid by travel companies rather than the hotel

BUT in all the times we have visited Sharm we have not foundthe need to be entertained as we tend to enjoy going out in the evening or sit chatting whilst enjoying a few drinks
The last hotel we were at had a bar open near the beach where all the English gathered and I took an MP3 player which the staff plugged into their sound system -sorted

A lot of the hotels in Egypt are Russian and Italian dominated. It can depend on the major nationality as to what type of evening entertainment you get. If a hotel is 70% Italian then the entertainment will probably be in Italian.

Like Gray we are not to fussed as organised entertainment is not our thing, we normally have something to eat and then go for a wander, if there is anything to wander to, as said often the Brits will find there own area and sit together and have a chat and enjoy the AI drink.

The exceptions might be the Red Sea holiday Village and Coral Sea Resort as these are 90% Brits and First choice seem to organise the entertainment. I think the Hilton Sharks Bay has Brit entertainment team as well.

If you stay at a hotel in Namma Bay you dont really need organised entertainment as you can go out to the bars, cafes, hard rock etc of an evening and there are lots of little shops to browse if you are left in peace long enough to do so.

But up at Nabq you are a bit more limited as all the hotels are AI so the two malls there are pretty dead - well they were in April, they might have picked up a bit now. :)

I asked the same question on here but no-one seems to give much more info than what's in these posts. Most people seem to sit by the pool for a quiet drink or go for a stroll.
Each to their own but not my cuppa tea, I have paid good money to be entertained and the brochure states 'entertainment day & night' at the resort where I've booked so I hope I darn well get it!

I see you have booked HSB smurfiitt -you are going to be sadly disappointed, given your requirement for non stop entertainment. I really don't think Egypt and the HSB is going to have what you are looking for at all. While the hotel is excellent the "entertainment" is not - it's very low key both day and night. If you can change to another country, you should. People mention sitting by the pool or going for a stroll, because there's not much else to do in Sharks Bay!

:que Perhaps that's because that is about as much as usually happens in most hotels in Egypt

We are adults but want a fun holiday so the animation team must be more than 3 entertainers, put on loads of sporty competitions during the daytime: shuffleboard, darts, table tennis, water polo and perform good shows in the evening.
In addition, we want the hotel situated right next to the beach and if possible near to a lively resort.

I notice you never received a reply in the Egyptian forum to the above question that you also asked in several different forums, again this is probably because what you are looking for in regards to that type of hotel animation program is not generally the norm in Egypt, the entertainment found is usually low key and very similar to that found in Tunisia.

Hi all,
I'm not out to upset anyone as I appreciate the info you have provided.
However, entertainment may not be as low key as you believe. Having been on youtube there are a variety of clips of holiday at Eygptian hotels showing the majority of the activities I referred to as well as shows such as Grease, Michael Jackson etc. Feedback on other sites also state such goes on at HSB. Maybe not to the extent of other places but they do have audience participation shows and daytime sports activities.

It could be that because they are of no interest, you may not be aware of them.

Irrespective of that, I have booked my holiday at the HSB based on info people have kinfdly given me on here and will enjoy it even if the entertainment is not that great. I am the sort of person who makes their own fun and am looking forward to the snorkelling experience, swimming or lazing on a lilo in the lovely pools and meeting new people. Not fond of sightseeing but a trip to Naama will be fun because I am a blonde, blue eyed female. Don't worry, having been to Tunisia I know what to expect, can hold my own but will be in a group anyway.
