dr said he wont recommend a dietician as they dont know what the problem is
ive had my friend around who lost darren the last 2 days ,shes totally devastated, and im drained with all that too, i hope we can make this holiday as i need a break
I ve been following this from day 1 and would like to offer my condolences for your friend and to say i hope your hubby gets sorted out asap, you seem to have a lot on your shoulders the last few months i hope you have a friend you can lean on as well, everybody needs a shoulder at times like these
You have had a terrible time and we all feel for you, Oz, your family and of course Darren's family but to say that you hope you can still have a holiday when Oz is as bad as he is, is not being realistic.
Do you think going on holiday to Turkey will be the best thing for him and of course you?
I really don't mean to put you on a downer because you have enough to put up with and maybe I am wrong for saying this - I am sure others will correct me but I have read your posts since it started and your concern was when he was hospitialised in a hotel in Turkey so surely the best for him is to be in the UK where you have your friends and family around you both?
Whatever you decide, I really wish you all well and again, I am sorry for not encouraging you to travel when Oz is unwell.
Love to all your family and of course Darrens family and friends. Suzie.
i understand what you are saying, the dr said last week he was ok to still go providing he was careful not eating spicy or rich food and didnt drink too much, but he has got worse since then, if he continues to get worse then we wont go on holiday, im hoping the antibiotics kick in soon and help, we will see what the consultant says on tues as hes the expert and follow his advice. this holiday was booked in jan before he got taken ill or i would never have considered booking it, also i feel sorry for my friend as shes still going without Darren but she felt safe cos we were there although in a different hotel and not on the same flight, we will have to see how things go this week , we have 2 weeks before the hol
I think it would be better not to think about this holiday for now as it's just giving you more to worry about when you have so much on your plate there . If you can't go you know there will be plenty of others .

I'm with Lyn on this one. I think you need to take one day at a time, and see how things develop. Don't put any more pressure on yourself, on top of what you already have.
Me too Karen, just try and get through the weekend. Many people say it takes between 24 and 48 hours for anitbiotics to kick in so maybe by Monday morning he will be feeling better. I suppose if he gets worse you will need to go to A&E, thank goodness you have the consultant appointment early next week.
he didnt sleep well last night cos when he lies on back his stomach hurts and on sides his groin area hurts grr, hes dosing himself up with paracetamol, and going back to drs tues morning to get stronger pain killers then consultant tues night, hopefully if he manages to not get worse we will know more tues night. im hoping the antibotics for this groin infection will kick in soon
cant beleive this bug he picked up in turkey can cause such major long term problems grr, would love to know what it was or where he got it from, dr suspects it was from food or drink and could have been up to 24 hrs before symptoms started , so that doesnt really help.
hes just said hes not quite in as much pain as yesterday but he was up in the night taking paracetamol too, so think if he takes them regular it will take the edge off, hes not allowed nurofen as that will cause more probs.
Condolences to Darren's family, it must be especially hard for his step daughter, bless her. I can't imagine what thoughts must be going through her head at losing 2 dads in such a short space of time.
I'm sending my love to you all.
Sounds a bit more promising if he is not in as much pain as he was Karen, perhaps the antibiotics will start to work soon. How long is it since you were in Turkey ? It seems to have been going on a while now. Perhaps if the consultant thinks that the biopsy is necessary you can go back to your GP and get an urgent referal to a consultant on the NHS, although even an urgent referal on the NHS can be a few weeks, but better than the usual 4 months. Got my fingers crossed for both you and him, you are really going through it at the moment.
darren's funeral is a week on tues, it was his birthday this weds so we all going out for a meal to celebrate his life. found out a bit more why he died now, he had leaking blood vessels around his neck area aswell as the urine infection
