Does anyone know when Thomson will be selling winter 2010 / 11 holidays?

Does anyone have a phone number for the claims dept in Salford Manchester?

I had a phonecall and susequent letter from this dept re a claim and it was offering me vouchers as compensation, i returned the form the same day i got it which was approx 11 days ago and ive heard nothing more now i realise this is probably to do with the postal strike but i would like to ring them and ask if they have indeed had my signed form back and if they have sent me the vouchers yet but there is no contact No on the letter and i cant find one online.
Its regarding a FC holiday but the letter says Tui Plc and its from a claims handler.

Try 0161 7452102. That's for the legal services at Salford, unless it's changed in the last few months.

Thanks i tried but it was a dead line.
I shall hold out a few more days and see if they turn up.

Sorry about that. There is an email legal.services@tuitravel.co.uk. Don't know if it is current though.

Oh thanks i shall try that now.

What is the likelihood of a Thomson shop coming out cheaper than the thomson website price?

I went on the website and priced the hotel and then added the flight. This worked out about £300 cheaper than the package price. When you book it that way you have to pay in full and it was quite an expensive holiday so though I'd try my local Thomson shop. They matched it apart from about £26 and then I only had to pay a deposit :tup . I was well happy. My friends tried the same at their local shop but they wouldn't do it. Must be worth a try. You don't get if you don't ask.

They couldn't match the website price which came out £80 cheaper so we booked online. Pricing hotel and flights seperately also came out a lot more expensive.

Over 5 years since we did a package holiday preferring diy but as this will be our first visit to croatia we thought a package might be best.

Just checked today and it is now £120 more expensive as the discounts are not so large. OK so they are offering a low deposit scheme but given the choice of saving over £100 and paying a £75 pp low deposit I know which one I prefer. After all the holiday has got to be paid for sometime whether you pay £75pp or £130pp deposit.

I may of course find nearer the time that the price has gone down but we have got what we wanted at a very good price which in my mind is the main thing. I have never been one to leave holidays to the last minute hoping for a good bargain - which nowadays are few and far between anyway.

I had been dithering for a while before finally booking our holiday to Rhodes with our grandaughter during her Summer holidays next year. The price had been putting me off because this is the first time we have had to holiday when the schools are off. Pleased I did book though because I checked the prices again last night (which I really should not do after booking) and found the online discount had reduced, taxi fare from airport had increased and also the upgrade to half board had increased, so the holiday was working out £149 dearer.
Is the low deposit scheme still running - it was advertised on the Thomson website, however when I booked we still paid £130.00 each.

We have a booking with Thomson which can be accessed online. We are changing our ISP and our email address. Is there an easy way to notify Thomson of this - I can find nothing on the site where I can change my personal details. There is an email address on my reservation for use if something on the booking is not correct. There may be a chance we can still access our existing email address but obviously do not want to miss any important changes that might occur to our holiday.

I know this is impossible to answer but just asking for peoples viewpoints. Looking to book a hotel-only in Majorca with Thomson ( flight too expensive so will book Easyjet ) and have noticed the price went up pretty sharply last week i.e. from £740 to £810. Do Thomson usually put up the price at the end of November so they can announce a 'sale' in January? I know a lot of the companies announce sales in the new year but not sure if Thomson is one of them.

Cheers,

Jim

Possibly the case, but also many tour operators will have just launched their updated brochures (2nd or 3rd editions) for Summer 2010 and these will often have price corrections and changes within them. Hotels and destinations that have sold well from 1st edition may see price increases. Hotels that haven't sold as well may have had room tariffs renegotiated and brochure prices may have actually fallen.

I certainly would expect to see some discounting in the market during January and am sure TUI will have some campaign running to attract bookings. If looking at a TUI package I would hold off booking until 26th December when January holiday sales traditionally kick-off.

Traveller,

I hope you're right 'cos I've decided to wait until after Christmas. I'm pretty sure I remember such reductions in previous years.

Having not booked a package holiday for 5 years (have been doing diy since then) I was a little suprised to get a phone call from Thomsons this evening. They were trying to sell me extra leg room seats for my holiday to Croatia next September! For a flight of only just over 2 hours I think I can put up with normal seats. They then tried to sell me seats together - as there are only 2 of us we haven't bothered with that either - not worried if we are either side of an aisle!

Is this a new tactic - trying to get people to spend a little more money on 'extras'.

Pippa, my son had the same phone call and his flight is to Reus which is usually under 2hrs!! just him and his girlfriend flying so the chances of being split up are almost nil.
First Choice did this to me a few years ago so I don't think it is a particularly new tactic. Any extra money they can get out of customers seem to be their first priority.

I think Thomson are taking the mick with customers I was looking at the price for a Holiday to Jamacia in March 2011 and 3days ago it came out at 3938pounds for the two of us today it has increased by 426pounds how can Thomsons justify this increase to the same hotel?? its time there was more competition in the market.
