Ashwem is a beautiful beach and definately worth a visit. I forget the name of the shacks we usually go to, but one is the first shacks after the steps where the river feeds into the sea. The other is a little down the beach in the direction of Anjuna and has some rocks by the sea in front of it. We have always been treated well and all in all had a good time.

Hope my 2 rupee's worth is helpful.

Thank you all for your help.

Do some of the beach shacks have accommodation? Beach huts?

Jph77, My advice would be to pack an overnight bag get a taxi to Ashvem and find a nice beach hut for the night. There are always plenty to choose from, worst case scanario is you have the day on a great beach and get a taxi back. We have been a number of times and never found the huts to be full, S2 is our favourite. If I remember correctly expect to pay around 800rps per night, the huts are clean and basic with a double bed, fan and en suite.
