Hi, Last night we booked flights from Newcastle to Lanzarote with Jet2 Leaving 28/02/10 and returning 14/03/10, i know with absolute certainty i booked the correct dates but when we recieved our confirmation it had us returning on 07/03/10!
If i had input 07/03/10 as my return date the price i paid would have actually been £20 more!
Anyway as far as Jet2 are concerned "it is not possible for the system to make a mistake", so i have had to fork out another £57 to have it changed to the correct date.
So i was wondering, is it just me or has this happened to anyone else?
And just a piece of advice i am going to work to from now on i will be taking screen shots at every step of every transaction i make online from since consumer direct confirmed - if you have no evidence, you have no legs to stand on!
I booked with them yesterday and it was easier to book by phone and it was exactly the same price.
Welcome onboard
I can't say I've ever had a problem when booking flights online with Jet2.com or any other airline. It's imperative that before you click book / confirmation, you check and double check all the information is correct.
Darren
The suggestion I gave then was that they are correct - it will be impossible for their system to get it wrong but it is possible for you to get it wrong using their software on a slow dial up link. I've seen sites that refresh the screen very slowly whilst you are trying different dates and if you put in your new selection too quickly the software overwrites it with your previous date as it finishes building the page. So when you click to continue you know what you asked for but it does something else. Very dangerous and the reason why you must read everything very carefully before clicking the final confirmation.
If i do a booking with say 4 people and use the online check in facility does that mean i just turn up at the airport and go to what they call "bag drop" drop my cases off and away we go ? (obviously doing the online check in first)
Never been with Jet2 before and always thought that online check in was just for people with hand luggage only
And how do they know what hand luggage weight/size you have ,is that all sorted at the bag drop bit ?
If thats the case (excuse the pun lol) what are the queue`s like compared to say normal airport check in and what do i need to be aware of ?
Looking at going from LBA in July so any advice from that airport would be most helpful
That's correct. If you check-in online and have baggage to drop off, you need to check your luggage in at the designated baggage drop-off desk. This can sometimes save time but if there's a few also checking luggage in, you might have to queue. Hand luggage will be assessed at check-in or at the boarding gate. Any hand luggage not meeting size / weight limits will have to go in to the hold, at a charge, or refused travel. You'll find airport information on our Leeds Bradford topic.
Darren
Sounds like online check in it is then
........... and dont forget to print those important boarding passes (for outbound and return) as part of the online checkin process !
Chris
Now that Jet2 are doing package holidays I presume the same would be for us. The person I booked with said we could chack in online or at the desk at no extra charge.
Yep thanks Chris
Jet 2 allocate seats at check in ,does that include online check in ?
so when i print my boarding cards out will the seat numbers will be on the cards
It also says that you can check in online up to 28 days before your flight ,has anyone done it that far away from your flight ?
Sorry for all the questions but not used to checking in online ,normally do airport check in
Yes, that includes online check-in. Your seats will be allocated when you check-in online or if you want to, you can pay extra to reserve specific seat numbers prior to checking-in. Your boarding cards will have seat numbers printed on them, in exactly the same way you'd have if you checked-in at the airport. I normally check-in well before my flight is due to depart. I've never done 28 days prior, but a couple of weeks. The reason it's available that far in advance is then you can also check-in for your return flight as you may not have access to a printer / internet in resort. It makes little dfference if you check-in on the day of your flight or 28 days before. Just don't lose your boarding card!
Darren
Thats great ,thanks again for reply
Was just a bit worried re the online check in as never done before and just read that BMI Baby only allow you to print out outbound boarding cards which means you then have to find a pc/printer when on holiday to print out your inbound cards
Anyway thanks for the info and putting my mind at rest
Paul
Do anyone have a promotion code for Jet2? Thanks
We've booked with Jet2 for Malaga this Summer from Newcastle. I've just received an offer from them for their Jet2plus for £19.99. It's not worth taking up the offer for outbound as we fly early morning but we thought it might be worthwhile at Malaga for the return flight. Anybody know much about the lounge at Malaga, how soon before your flight are you allowed in for free food & drinks. We thought for £20 it might be worth it considering the price of a pint at the airport, plus it includes a meal on the plane. Anyone tried Jet2 plus?
I have just booked with Jet2 for May - Newcastle to Tenerife. As we are travelling with a baby it states that seats will be prereserved for us automatically and we can not check in on line - only at the airport. Does this mean that we have already been allocated pecific seats so we are sat together or do we just take pot luck depending on what time we check in? Also does anyone know the policy for taking bottles of baby milk through the airport - not sure of the restrictions on liquids.
