Hi, I'm looking on Thomson's website for package holidays to Mallorca or Ibiza for summer 2010, flying from Bournemouth (as we usually do)
It won't give me any holidays in Ibiza, and one villa only in Mallorca!

However if I look at booking just flights for the same dates....they seem to be available.

Does anybody know what is going on? :que

What dates are you looking for. Just tried a date in June and there's plenty of accommodation coming up.

well it's the first half of July.....
are you getting complete packages or just accommodation?
thanks for trying!

Hi. Yea you're right. I've just tried booking accom and then adding a flight and there's no BOH flights coming up. Strange.

hiya,we have just book our holiday through thomson,no problems there but they wanted us to reserve our seats, and they said more and more people are doing it and if we didnt we may not be sitting together. we have never pre booked seats and have always sat together, are they just trying to get us to spend another £43 pound or are more people pre booking seats.

We always prebook ours but that's just personal preference. I couldn't say if more people are pre booking. If you don't your seats will be allocated about 48 hours before departure so it's no good requesting specific seats (eg window etc) at check in. There is always a risk that you could be separated but how big that risk is, is dependant on how many people prebook or choose to 'select your seat'.

hiya sunaddict, i understand that but the way the travel agent spoke,no matter if we got to the airport early and were 1st in the que, we probably wouldnt be sitting together as everybody pre books seat now,i wondered if that was true or just after more money

It wouldn't make any difference what time you get to the airport because your seats will have been pre allocated. As I say, we do and I know lots of others that do, but equally others that don't. It's incorrect to say everybody prebooks. How the agent would know that I can't imagine.

we have never pre booked seat and as yet never been split up, we have been across the isle from each other but that is still considered together by Thomson

we have a seating together thread in the flights/airports forum

Hi. We have booked a holiday with thomson at 23kg each for baggage. Our tickets state 20 kg each. We contcated shop and requested proper tickets to be told this has happend to a lot of people and thomson arent going to re issue tickets and that we arent to worry as check in at gatwick will be aware.

I have explained im not happy with that and would prefer proper tickets or something from them to state our allowance so we arent charged but the travel agent says they arent doing that as its happend to so many tickets and it will be fine!

help!

I assume that you paid extra of have premium seats to get the 23kg allowance? If that is the case, if a mistake has occurred I would ask the TA to send you an e-mail confirming that your booking included the extra luggage allowance of 23Kg. I have my tickets for my holiday and have the premium seats and states 23kg allowance on those.

I would feel happier if I had something from the TA confirming the full allowance - that is assuming you will use all 23kg ;)

Booked last May for Cuba on 8th May 2010, booked vip package with an upgrade included. Went to collect ticket yesterday and its not showing on them. TA contacted Thomson who say we haven't booked the upgrade, our invoice shows room upgrade but they are saying this isnt the vip package and are trying to say that this wasnt available when we booked. Fortuately the TA had copies of original brochures when we booked but the Thomson member of staff said it wasnt available as a booking when we booked it.

As you can imagine not impressed, TA got to ring them tomorrow so Thomson can contact their Programme Staff to check what is included. Checking website now and the vip package isnt available anymore. I am not backing down on it and want them to sort it out.

We booked via firstchoice brochure but Thomson say we booked via Thomson brochure, I know they are the same company but we definitely booked via the f/c brochure. Both brochures have the same hotel with the same vip package on original brochures but both now dont advertise it.

Will wait and see what response I get tomorrow. Also visa's didnt come with tickets so got to wait for them now. The Tomson member of staff thought we were going to Crete, not CUBA!!!!! :que :que
