WE are looking to book and wonder if anyone has stayed recently at villas of somerset down poinciana blvd.
Would love to hear what you think before we go ahead please
Hi Alison, myself and family (husband & 2 kids aged 14 and 12) stayed there in July 2008, booked through Direct Holidays which was in the process of being taken over by Thomas Cook. The villas themselves looked as though they could use a lick of paint on the outside to be honest but I had no complaint about the interior. We'd only ever been to Florida on last minute deals before and were used to staying in motel rooms so the space and facilities in these villas was quite a bonus for us. We didn't think much of the clubhouse facilities and the communal pool was on the small side. Again this didn't really impact on our holiday as we found we could easily live without them. Last time we went to Florida in Oct 09 and stayed at the Tuscana Resort in Championsgate. These condos were really nice with a lovely communal pool which was great to use at the end of a hot and tiring day. The Tuscana made us realise that the villas of Somerset were a little on the shabby side by comparison. I always hesitate to recommend places to other people when asked, what I may find acceptable you may hate. It really all depends on what you're used to. If you're looking for luxury accomodation, this isn't it. However, if you're looking for spacious and clean accomodation in a convenient location you shouldn't be disappointed.
