Hi stemcp ... in addition to any info you may obtain here in the Eastern Europe forum, it may also be worth browsing for recommendations or posting in the
I can't really recommend any particular one as it depends what you're after. We had a few nice meals during our New Year break in the city. However, we didn't do 'posh' just your usual grub in a pub restaurant mostly. We found the quality and variety of food at Mustek- traditional restaurant at the bottom of Wenceslas Square very good. However as they were so busy we had a fair wait. A very reasonably priced pub restaurant with great food was the Patriot Taverna.
Hope you have a lovely few days - We loved prague.
We had so many lovely meals in Prague - it would be hard to pick. I would ask at reception in the hotel. You could tell them what sort of food you're loking for. As Shirley said you could have cheap & cheerful or luxury cousine - it just depends on what you want
Inside is very rustic with big solid wood tables. The bar has those old fashioned German style shiny big beer pumps. The waiters have the old long aprons on. It's more of a bar type atmosphere but the food was delicious and there was always plenty of locals there. They have a sort of museum in the cellars that you can go down and look at as well.
I know this is very vague, but we ate there a few times and always had a lovely meal.
