although we are going to Manchester tomorrow night, we dont fly until early Friday morning..we are just going the night before because we would have to get up at daft o clock to be at Manchester in time for check in..it is a good couple of hours drive from where we live as we have to go over the top and through Tintwistle etc..and it is a heavy going drive..so we are going the night before, stopping in the Premier Inn at the airport and have got one of them parking deals etc..

I think we have to check in at 5am....to be honest..I don't care what time we go..I am just glad we are going as we never got to go on either of the planned and paid for holidays last year..and I missed out Egypt completely last year...so I am well ready for this... :D

We are leaving at stupid o'clock tonight...around 3am. Takes 2.5-3 hours for us to get to Glasgow and get the car to the carpark and then get over to the airport. I always worry that something will hold us up so we leave early. Flight is at 9am tomorrow - looking forward to getting to our free ugrade room and for our anniversary cake getting delivered next Tuesday :rofl

Thanks Lyn - if it wasn't for you I might have gone to Hurghada for my first time in Egypt - toss up between that and HSB, and here I am off there for the third time. :)

Have a great holiday Val!

Thats a lovely thing to say Pat but maybe you should try Hurgharda at some point .I'm sure if you find the right hotel it will be just as nice .

WOO HOOO!

We're all excited - just made all our arrangements AGAIN for our visit to Egypt1

Off to Luxor for one week on 17th September from Cyprus.

Booked our flights direct with Egyptair at a cost of €234pp including flights Larnaca/Cairo then Cairo/Luxor return.

Have arranged a private mini bus pickup with a local agent (someone who worked at Jolleys) for LE10pp (there are 6 of us travelling together) to take us to our accommodation at the Winter Palace (Pavillion) Hotel. Cost of the accommodation is £89GBP pp per week for B&B booked through Travel Republic.

Now, reading through Hotels4U website where the accommodation is reserved - they mention 3 hotels in this complex.... The Winter Palace 1886, The New Winter Palace (built in 1996) and they say the entrance to the Pavillion is adjacent to the Winter Palace (original/Old) and you reach the hotel through the gardens.

I'm not aware there were 3 hotels - so has anyone got any more info on this?

Can't wait to get there again! It's our most favoured place now we are living permanently in Sunny Cyprus :cheers

from arrival at Hurghada we transfer straight to the boat and set sail..we return to harbour Thursday lunchtime on 4th Feb ( no diving within 24 hours of flying) for the afternoon/evening actually in Hurghada itself..although we will still be sleeping on the boat. We then transfer straight from there to the airport on Friday morning. Very little time in Hurghada itself..which I am quite glad about as it means I don't get to spend loads of cash on tat that I don't really want!!

Have a great holiday Meerkat!

I've stuck a post in the general about this, but thought I would put something in here as well.

I'm off to Egypt on the 1st March and not sure which factor to bring with me. Don't want to burn but still want a nice come back a nice brown.

Going from weatheronline.co.uk they advise
The average daily maximum temperature was between 24°C and 29°C. At night it cooled down to temperatures between 15°C and 19°C.

I'm thinking 15 to 20? Any advise would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks Tamara
