Have a great time Keith ! Try "Sublime" in Saligoa for a special meal out. Fantastic set up, I'm surprised it hasn't featured in more reports. Dave

Disagree about the photos re Marinha - the banner picture is a mirror image looking from the annex back towards the main entrance. If you look in the photo gallery it is a mirror image of the 3rd picture on the first row. The background is correct.

the 1st one on the 2nd row must be years old as there's no gap between the blocks anymore as they joined them by building more rooms...

You have to be highly critical to notice this, as the gap is at the very edge of the photo and the infill certainly does nothing to detract from the appeal of the Marinha. I certainly do not believe that their pictures are in any way misleading.

Miccie I was in no way being critical of of the MD, if I was I certainly would'nt be returning for the 7th time. I have never took to much notice of the photos I just happened to look to see what Dave had pointed out.... :cheers ..Keith

Miccie, I stand corrected the photo has not been altered just shown in a way to confuse ! The photo wasn't a problem for me either as I am also a repeat visitor.
I see no point in using a mirror image for their main photograph though, why would you do that. Initially a mistake but I would have corrected it.Cheers Dave

Comparisons between Web and Actual resort.

The Dona Alcina website takes some beating!

Dona Alcina a cross between Butlins and Tenko in reality.

Spaldy,

I stayed there for a week, it was thrown in with a flight deal... all 3 weeks. Mosquito ridden, no AC, filthy, should have been knocked down years ago. Had the atmosphere of Stalag 17, yet there seemed to be lots of happy British staying there..... because it was cheap! A grade A dump indeed! Surprised it's still trading and package tours are still putting up people there. Notorious is a ll I can say.

Spaldy, you've really overstopped the mark here. Goa clearly has its warts but comparing it to somewhere were British soldiers are dying on such a frequent basis and the civilian population are being killed and injured whilst trying to get on with life in a war zone is absolutely out of order. If Big Neil shares your sense of humour and is not offended by these sort of comments then perhaps it's better for you to PM your jokes to him rather than posting them here. I hope to God than no members of the families of serving soldiers, much less those who have suffered a bereavement, are readers of this forum or think that the rest of us condone comments which are in such bad taste.

Oh lighten up!
The post was not intended to upset anyone. God forbid we have a laugh on here, drop a pill.

I read Spaldy's post in the way it was intended, and not as a reference to Goa being like a war zone. That's the trouble with the written word, you can often take things the wrong way. Maybe Spaldy needs to put one of these :cheers :rofl :D after his posts, and then people won't take him so literally?

Why should SMa 'lighten up'? If she's upset by your comments then she has every right to express her opinion on here. I find your comment above rather rude to be honest.

Hey Spaldy, ease up matey. I know where you are coming from, hell most of my posts are tinged with a bit of humour and some downright tongue in cheek, but you on the borderline with this one.
Lets all take a chill pill and put it down to just trying to brighten up a lousy February after a nice bit of winter sunshine. Or you could do it my way and knock out another couple of weeks in April in Thailand.
You know it makes sense and it's far better than bitching.

Thanks for the advise Eddie,i'm already in Thailand for 3 months.
I realise you don't like me Glynis but i had no intention of being rude....quite a few comments have been made about myself which i have ignored.
I'll leave it at that. Enjoy.
