Here are some numbers to try:-
Thanks Luci, tried those numbers and i just get through to customer services, and have to go through it all again . Still no further forward. Do Alpharooms automatically take payment from bank account or do they have to ask for details again. I thinking of just booking elsewhere but dont want to risk it if they can just take payment from bank.
I'm not sure as I paid in full when I booked so that it would be over £100 and covered by the credit card.
Thanks for that , but doesnt state if they store payment details and automatically take payment or if they have to ask for it again . Guess its just a waiting game, so frustrating.
Hi audbod, we booked with Alpharooms last month for our trip to Prague. Payment was processed straight away and we received the confirmation invoice within minutes.
Last October when we went to New York we had the same thing. Normally they send details within the hour - we waited at least 8 days before we got confirmation of booking.
I know that doesnt help much but everything did go smoothly. Im sorry to hear you are having problems getting through though - normally they are on the ball in answering telephone queries.
Let us know if you get sorted, but I have found them efficient in the past.
Good luck!
Thanks Tootsie, im hoping we get confirmation soon, as it seems to be sold out now for our dates. Fingers crossed.
Well, I hope I can. Not your particular problem but that kind of problem has been an issue with the company recently; let me try and address them. Not that it'll be particularly helpful but well at least you'll have a clearer picture.
When you ring and you think you're being fobbed off, you ARE being fobbed off. Don't blame the people who you're speaking to on the phone, they've been told to fob you off. In fact, the only training they have had is to fob you off. What are they doing to resolve your issue? Writing it onto a database that has no recognition system; nothing that allows someone to check if you've actually called before. Everytime you call it's essentially the first time you call unless you're lucky enough to get through to the same person and they remember you. If you're being told things like "they have to manually confirm the room" that again is fobbing you off.
The people you speak to on the phone aren't actually trained to do anything with the company, they've just been set on the phones and literally told to tell people to call back in 48 hours regardless of how important the problem is. There are people apparently stuck on resort getting the same information.
Regarding confirmation emails; all it takes is for one person to send it through. There is no problem there other than pure bone idleness.
If no money has been taken from your account that means in all likelihood that your booking hasn't gone through and you'll have to book again. However, you will actually need to hear from them to make sure this is the case and that they won't try and take money from you.
Here lies the more complicated issue (this is for other people reading who might have a similar problem to yourself); some people have booked and have been told to ring on a certain day to pay the remainder of the balance, as they have been warned if they don't then the holiday will be cancelled. Alpharooms are not getting back to these people and the result there is that the booking will be cancelled through no fault of the customer, just because alpharooms did not get back in touch in time to take the payment.
None of the above is intended to scare you, it's just being blunt and honest, I know because my best mate has worked there recently and was telling me of their good prices - we only heard about the company through him getting a job there, but knowing what I know I would never book with them now.
Clearly of course some people do have their good experiences but I just thought I would share what little I know, if you have any more specific questions feel free to pm me and I'll see what I can find out.
Hope you get confirmation soon autobod. I booked a hotel in Tunisia with them yesterday for April and received confirmation within a few minutes, swiftly followed by my accommodation voucher. This is still showing their 'emergency number' as being in Spain though, which won't be much use to me in Tunisia so, a usual, I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't need their help when I'm out there. I do, however, always phone the hotel direct a few days before I'm due to arrive, just to confirm they have my booking, though I've never had a problem in the past with any of these consolidators, including Alpha Rooms. Incidentally their confirmation did state that it might take up to 5 days for the transaction to appear on my credit card.
Thanks guys, Called them again yesterday, and still getting told the same thing, because its 2 rooms , 1 of them confirmed automatically and the other has to be manually confirmed by hotel, and seemingly that is what they are waiting on. As usual they cant give a time frame , but woman i spoke to said to give it another week. Im holding on in the hope i can get it confirmed as there is now no availability on any of the websites for my dates.
Well finally got an email today saying that the rooms cannot be confirmed and they have cancelled my booking, only took them 14 days ,might be a record, anyways rebooked different accomadation with hotels4u and received confirmation straight away. Dont think i'l ever use Alpharooms again.
That's the trouble with a lot of the internet companys. They normally only have 1 hotel room or holiday at that price and they have to request out to the hotel for more allocation. Glad you got it sorted
I'm so pleased you've finally managed to book your accommodation autobod, although at a different hotel and through a different company. I really can't see any excuse for Alpharooms not letting you know the situation earlier but at least you can now look forward to your holiday. Hope you have a good time.
Interested to hear all the above comments as I too have had a real problem with Alpharooms customer services for the last week. I had made a booking with them last November for this May and wanted to speak to someone regarding a change to my booking but it proved absolutely impossible to speak to anyone in customer services. I have phoned loads of times, hanging on for as long as 15 minutes. Then suddenly at weekend the recorded message changed to say they were having large volume of calls so then they just cut me off. I was told by the sales department to email them which I did 3 times. I would get an immediate automated reply but nobody has ever got back to me. I have used Alpharooms a few times and the actual bookings have always gone smoothly - which they did this time - the problem arose when I wanted to discuss it with someone. They desperately need to sort out their customer services department because I for one have lost all confidence in booking with them again because of this. By the way I never phoned the 0871 number used 01142687000 or 02002009757.

I have registered with this site just to warn everyone to not use Alpharooms.
Myself and a friend booked an hotel in America in January for our holiday in March to visit Orlando and to watch the space suttle take off.
The first problem with them was they took three weeks to send our booking details instead of 3-5 days and I paid for registered post and they sent them un-registered.
A month ago nasa changed the launch date for the shuttle to May which was no problem to us so we tried to contact Alpharooms to amend the booking as they no longer let you do this online. after four attemps of over 40 minutes at ten pence a minute we got through to someone who took our details and told use someone would contact us in 48 hours no one did after phoneing again and again and waiting at least 15 minutes for the phone to be answered we were told the same thing and that they had no record of our previous contact no one phoned us back.I have sent many e-mails and letters telling them we wish to change the dates to May and only received one e-mail saying that they are having problems at the moment.with just seven days away from our original date they sent an e-mail saying only another seven days to your holiday.I then took the problem to hand and contacted my hotel in America and asked them to change the booking for me whicch they did right away and that I and them had to contact Alpharooms to tell them what we had done which I did the next day and today I recived an e-mail from Alpharooms to tell me that I had to amend my booking. Appalling appalling service. If they have not taken any money from your account I would count your blessings and run a mile from Alpharooms.I am reporting them to watchdog and anyone else I can think of.
Cheers
Alistair
Hope you manage to get things sorted, Alpharooms are a joke, i would never use them again, even if the rooms were free, but on a plus side i use a cashback site, and even though the booking never went through, they have credited my cashback account with almost £100, but no doubt will be took back out before payment date lol
