Have to try and decide which of these hotels will suit us best, retired couple, like good food and nice quality hotel.
What do you all think ??
Hi marjrie .. while you wait to hear from those with personal experience of both hotels, you can read the individual opinions of each hotel here:
I found the food good at THe Flamingo Oasis, but it was a very busy and noisey dining room, in fact the Hotel itself was too big and bustling for us! I much preffered the atmosphere at The Los Dalmatus, good food, very friendly staff, and its much more relaxing experience in the Hotel Restaurant. Its more like dining in a Restaurant really rather than in the "usually" more noisey atmosphere of a Hotel dining room!
they're next door to each other!
quite a walk from the beach up a slight rise.
both good hotels!
I would say flamingo oasis is more "british"
levante club probably quieter.
depends on time of year and who else happens to be
there at the same time
I'd be quite happy to go to either!
I think I'd let price decide
I stayed in the Levante club 3 weeks ago and would describe it as very classy, fantastic rooms and excellent choice of well prepared and varied food. John

Is Los Dalmatus all inclusive ?

Is Los Dalmatus all inclusive ?
Yes it is now, or you can book Full Board/Half Board if you prefer!

The flamingo oasis as a a family with children and the Levante Club just my husband and I last year.
We had a great holiday on both occasions but for a couple we would suggest the Levante.
We went in July and we are a couple in our early 40,s and we were one of the youngest there. Very quiet, laid back, relaxing. Loverly big rooms, fantastic views from balcony and restaurant. (it was not A/I when we were there and drinks were expensive)
We would go to the Flamingo as a couple but would have to try a club room with access to the adult only area.
Any questions just ask.
The more I look the more confused I become, I know we want All Inclusive and a nice quality hotel, we are semi retired so not too noisy but some entertainment would be great.
The Regente is a friendly informal small hotel where guests mingle and chat more, it's not as good looking as the Levante being a much older property but very clean and it was recently refurbished. If you think the price is good for the Regente, IMO you won't go far wrong, I think the atmosphere and friendliness more than make up for the lack of good looks....Caz
PS. The entertainment was pretty good too.
I'd say Dalmatus probably shades it depending on price really...if ones a lot cheaper than the other i'd go with the cheaper option!

We've stayed at the Flamingo Oasis a few times, and we found the last twice it was far too noisy for us, and also the standards have gone down. Last November we stayed at the Regente A/I and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought that the Regente had a more relaxed atmosphere, everyone was friendly, and the food was good too. We're going again next month, and really looking forward to it. If you would like to know anything else, please ask, and I will help if I can.
All opinions welcome and I'll let you know what we decide on.
One more question, which agent does the Regente now, I thought it was Portland but it's not on there.
Also same question for Dalmatus.
I usually book DIY flights and my hotels through Travel Republic or Alpharooms...whichever works out the cheapest! They both do those hotels. You can also check the Regente through Thomsons...they seem to have switched it back from Portland since it was refurbished! Not sure which agents other than that book Dalmatas have a look online or ring a travel agent and ask them to check. I know you can book with them online on the onasol website...but this will probably work out dearer i would guess!
Thomson don't do the Regente anymore, and Portland only seem to be offering it until the end of April.
If you want a package holiday, First Choice is now handling the Regente.
Thomas Cook do the Los Dalmatas.
Sanji
The Dalmatas has the edge for where it's situated, and it's an international hotel with clients from all over Europe, whereas the Regente is catering for the British market.
Some people find the drag with a slight incline up to the hotels Regente, Flamingo Oasis, Melia and Levante Club too far, but personally I've never found it a problem because I like walking, and we are both retired and struggle with steep hills.
The Dalmatas has the edge over the Regente regarding desserts, so if you have a sweet tooth, the Dalmatas is better simply because there is more choice, otherwise IMO there is very little to separate the hotels regarding the standard of food being served, and I personally think the Regente chef has a far more adventurous streak in him, than the chef at the Dalmatas"¦.they do a wicked Tikka Masala and Chill C*n Carne at the Regente.
Whilst both hotels have friendly staff, the Regente staff seem to go that extra bit further and for atmosphere the Regente wins hands down, in fact I've never stayed in any hotel that can match the atmosphere of the Regente.
If you're a smoker,(at the moment) you can smoke in the Regente in the designated area in the main concert room and still be part of the crowd, and watch the nightly live entertainment with different acts on each night, plus bingo and a quiz"¦
The Los Dalmatas has a resident group who (IMO) don't inspire anyone to stay in and listen to them, and the hotel may bring in outside entertainers a few times a week for an hour (flamenco dancers/parrot show)"¦.plus if you want to smoke, you have to go outside.
The drinks are cheaper at the Regente and because the Dalmatas has been left to fall into a state of needing refurbishing, I would say that the Regente is now on a level pegging with this once 4* hotel.
I always thought (on the points mentioned above) that the Regente was the better hotel even before the refurbishment, even when it was wrongly classed as a 2 star hotel, and you'll be hard pressed to find a cleaner hotel in Benidorm.
Whilst the Los Dalmatas is clean and dated, the Regente is focussed on cleanliness and has recently undergone a facelift, and it cannot and never will try to compete with the 4 star hotels across the road, and therefore both hotels lack the luxury touch that you would expect in 4 star hotels...with of course the luxury price tag.
So, it's swings and roundabouts"¦. are you prepared to forgo a little luxury for the atmosphere and live entertainment, and probably a cheaper price.?
In conclusion, If you want to be near the beach, don't smoke, don't stay in the hotel for entertainment and have a sweet tooth >>>>>> The Los Dalmatas.
If you want a small friendly hotel with Sky TV, you smoke, don't want to be wandering around town at night and like different live acts in the hotel, and want to be amongst mainly British people, don't mind a little walk from the promenade>>>>> The Regente.
You don't mention when you are planning to visit Benidorm and whilst I have never been in the high summer season, I know that both hotels alter their menu's slightly after May, to cater for the children with beef burger, pizza and hot dogs.
If you look in the video library, I have made videos of both hotels.

Thomson are actually selling Los Dalmatus also!
Just done a search and you are correct, Thomson are bringing up the Los Dalmatas in the search engine, but for some strange reason (for me) the hotel is not listed in their hotel drop down menu, and they are classing it as a 4*+......that's a bit naughty IMO.
Sanji
I too have stayed at the Los Dalmatas and the Regente and have to agree with everything Sanji has said, IMO a very fair and accurate report.
Levante club hotel is going all inclusive this year ...we going in september ....
