Our friends who were in their 70s used to drive to Benidorm every November towing their caravan and stay until April.
i'm off to benidorm with my dad this year and he's really looking forward to it he's 76 going on 26 someone's told him to go to the black chicken said he'll love it ,if your friends dad is anything like mine the hardest thing will be getting home
The black chicken whould be a good idea hes into karaoke, hes got a eye for the ladies aswell
I have been to Benidorm many times with relatives in their 70s and 80s and the excitement was never too much for them. I think the biggest problem was crossing the roads. After decades of looking right before stepping out into the road, they just couldn't get used to looking left first, and so there were a few very near misses in Benidorm ! Hopefully if your friend's dad has a siesta in the afternoon, he will be as fit for the late nights as the younger ones. And if he can get by without needing a nap, there will be plenty going in the afternoons for his age group too. But depending on how adaptable he is to change, your friend may need to keep a close eye on him until he becomes familiar with his new surroundings. You probably don't need reminded, but just make sure he has an EHIC and insurance which includes cover for any pre existing medical conditions.
i am sure he will love it but for anyone who requires hospital treatment the levante hospital up by the flamingo oasis is private and will only treat you if you pay or have insurance (with you paying the excess £ first prior to treatment) also the clinics around benidorm are private. i found out later the public hospital is somewhere over by the hotel bali area.
we;re only going for the weekend you all make it sound like a battleground is it safer in the daytime ie. darts pool or maybe crazy golf or just friendly bars
i,m sure your dad will have a fantastic time,i went to copenhagan last year with a group of four one of which was in his seventies, and to be honest the two eldest put the younger ones to shame! so d'ont worry just enjoy yourselves. but just keep your eye on him near the black chicken.
It is on Calle Lepanto, next door to Sandra's cabaret bar (in between the Presidente hotel and the Square).
At the moment there are still loads of elderly people here. Carousel for one is popular with them because they serve tea and coffee all night as well as alcoholic drinks and there's always someone singing Frank Sinatra or Matt Monroe on the Karaoke!!
Scared to take my mates dad to see Sticky, he would end up trying to chat her up
