Well i can`t believe it`s all over after waiting for a whole year it seemed to be over in a flash,we had a fantastic holiday, met up with old friends and made new one`s,ate great food, basically did everything to excess.
Check in at gatwick was quick and our thomson flight was comfortable and more or less on time,we landed at Dabolim and was through customs and in the taxi within 20 minutes, had the usual scary drive to the hotel with me jumping and gasping all through the journey.
We arrived at the beautifull Marinha Dourada, was given the room we had asked for,a really beautifull setting over loking the lakes,i never tire of it.we had a lazy after noon and in the evening went to Kimfaa, fab food and so reasonable.
Up early and down to baga beach,i know it`s not the cleanest beach in the world but you could never say it was boring, met up with lots of old friends, chatted with the sellers, had lunch in the big banana lovely as usual.we went to Nisha`s that evening again very good we then went to pacci italian restaurant to listen to Bluesmania sing,it was a lovely evening.
The next day while having breakfast a couple we met a couple of years earlier stroled past,it was great to see them we wandered up to the banana shack at 11 a.m for a drink and was still there at 10 that evening, from there went to another bar,and then don`t remember anthing else, but strangely this was one of the nicest days,i kept worrying about getting back to change, but as our friend kept saying "enjoy the moment"
We went to our first carvery meet and once again it was great to see everyone, all very friendly, lots of chat, laughs and drinks.
Our holiday followed the same sort of pattern really,a bit of time at the pool,or beach straight back to get ready and out for the evening. will recontinue in a moment
we also visited Children walking tall,we had been buying bits all year so we dropped them off and Rob showed us round,Mango house is lovely and all seemed very organized.
All in all we had a lovely holiday(although i came back shattered),the only negatives for me is it can be scruffy in places, and the roads frighten me a bit,but for the many pluses i can cope for a 3 week holiday of lovely people, great food, and bundles of fun, with non stop sunshine, and so cheap. For anyone about to go gave a great time.
Glad to hear you had a great trip. I know what you mean about the roads. On our first visit OH thought it would be the same deal as Vietnam where you have to just step onto the road and then you find all the traffic just moves around you. I had a real struggle trying to stop him from trying this in Goa

Loving your report. That day when you went out and ended up staying out sounds like my sort of day and they are always the best because they are not planned. Hope your head wasn't too bad the next day!!
Debs, we also love the Marinha Dourada, best hotel in North Goa and we always go to Kim Faa on our first night as well. Love your report.

Thanks everyone, and Gemma beautifull photo, that view along with the serenity that goes with it brings a tear to my eye.Ooh forgot to mention the great nights we had at the Mayonna bar some great muscians, and brilliant for people watching!!!!!
Great report Debs. For the last 3/4 years we have said we must try Au Reverie but have never got there. Must go next year. Where exactly is it though, can't say I have ever seen it in all the years I have been going.
Hi Brenliz,Au reverie is calangut, near the goan heritage hotel & le jardin,i find myself keep thinking about this restaurant,it really was beautifull and if it was here it would be unaffordable,i even took phot`s of the loo`s(sad)
Don't know where Le Jardin is either, that is another one we have to try. Can't understand why we have never seen these as we have stayed in Calangute for the last 11 years. Must be the coffee doing something to my eyesight.
chilly
Thanks Chilly will definately get there next time.
