never been to the tropical bar can anyone tell us what its like is there any other bars near by

Yes..The Tropical is a very nice Cabaret Bar with reasonable prices, a good atmosphere and some really good acts on, such as Cheryle Louise Hipkiss (Ricky Dales partner) and the Brilliant female duo DebnHer, who i recommend to anyone. Plenty of room inside and a very spacious terrace outside too. Its right across the road from the Levante Club Hotel. There are several other bars on the same side as the Tropical, right next door is Rachels, also just a bit further down as your walking towards the beach is the Rock and Roll House, again some very good acts in there too.

Rock and Roll House is very good too...depends on when you go, but typical acts would include Cabytu a very talented duo, Wammy (an old pal of mine from lancs) he used to be in Los Bravos some years back, he's a good guitar vocalist playing mainly rock n roll and some of his own stuff. Buddy Holly & Elvis Tributes, and the Shoewaddywaddy chaps were also playing there last time i went...attracts a decent crowd of people normally...mainly based of course on Rock n Roll music, a few get up dancing, and its usually a pretty good atmosphere in there to, not rowdy, people who go in there want to listen to the music usually. Its certainly worth checkin the boards outside...the acts there...and at the Tropical do vary each night, i always call in at both when i'm there. All depends on what kind of Music you prefer really!

As far as Rachels go's...its worth mentioning there are two bars called Rachels in Beni, one is where i've mentioned next to The Tropical, and the other is nearer to the centre of the Levante nightlife area and used to be the old Steptoes 1...but this was closed last time i heard...i dont know if its open now or not!

Racheals that was Steptoes 1 has closed, looks like it is going to be a Flemenco place (That`s what the sign said above the door) Can`t see that lasting long.
Broadway had no acts on at all when i was there just showing football when it was on and a 241 bar. Might be back a cabret bar now its over. Pancho`s is supposedly reopening soon. No sign of Chrissy Rock looks like she`s had enough, alot of the acts have changed venue`s. Albi senior is now on at the Uk comedy bar( why they have renamed it that god know`s as it only has one or two comedian`s on there a night). Danny Dowing is at Rockerfella`s, Rikki Steven`s looks bored at the Town. Deb n Her have started at the Uk bar. We will rock you is now called One Vsion for them who don`t know they are at Morgan`s most night`s and Uk bar other as is the Grease tribute ( which would be better if it follwed the film as the songs are all over). Sandra`s was dead our last night they only had the first singer Angie then Garry George then went to Karaoke after that really gone down that place IMO. Still no where better plenty to see and do. Have fun who ever is going or thinking about it.

Broadway will be bringing the Acts back around start of September. Chrissy Rock in UK for the moment at least, She was at the opening of Dene Michaels Bar - Agadoo's - in Batley last week, and doing a few dates with Ricky Tomlinson too. Neil Ross will be taking his Summer Break from The Town shortly, and be back on in Sept!
Davey Royle also on his Summer Break at moment, and will be back in Sept!

A friend was in Benidorm a couple of weeks ago and said that a couple of advertised acts didn't appear when they were supposed to. I think one was Shoewaddywaddy, but not sure where at.

Anyone else experienced this?

It used to happen in Sandras quite often when there wern't many people in the venue, i think a lot of the smaller venues have done to, for the same reason. Its frustrating if your waiting for an act..because they wont tell you...but its quite often worse for the act themselves, because they dont always get told either, and only find out when they turn up that they wont be going on...or getting paid of course!

Agreed with ragman, it's on draught in lots of bars (or some sell the cans with the widget in) and it's fine. (not like me to be agreeing with ragman, better get some medication! lol)

guinness bar has 2 pints of lager 4 euros ,,, 2bottles beer 3.50 euros , special lunch is 5 euros with first pint free , sadly as i dont drink the black stuff i dont know the price ..probably around 4 euros a pint , they dont do halves of guinness do they ???
