Hotel Medano. Central.On the beach,on stilts into the sea. Good location for walking out, enough restaurants to please. Food at hotel is basic, but pleniful and fresh. Rooms basic, clean and bedding,towels changed daily.
More modern hotel about 10min walk to centre is Hotel Arenas Del Mar. dearer fab ocean views if you pay for upgrade room. Level 5. Food at this hotel is 5*

Thanks Pebble for your comments, I am still looking at various hotels and waiting to see if the prices drop for Easter, We have been to the Los Gigantes Hotel, Bougaville Playa and I am considering the Torviscas Playa or Bitacora. any comments?

Personally NO. Area not too good, a walk to everywhere. Not the best location. Can't comment on interiors, never stayed in them.
Can't actually put into words what is wrong.
Bitacora is in nice location. Bourganville Playa NO NON
