I always use Icmeler Online for my transfers and have never had any complaints with the service. It has always been really quick and efficient and I'll be using them again in just over a week's time.

would always go for a private transfer - no waiting for other people to land, get cases etc, no stops at overpriced cafes, no dropping off throughout Marmaris and Icmeler.....

straight to your hotel - never took me longer than 90 mintues as opposed to a hellish 4 hours one time on a coach transfer!!!

well worth the extra expense in my mind :)

Have recieved this from jet2holidays do I believe them or not

Shuttles are a shared transfer option and are a cheap, fast and effective way of travelling to and from your accommodation in a place you may be unfamiliar with. Approximate transfer time is 120 minutes.

Hello all.

Back to Icmeler in 2 weeks. Few questions for you seasoned travellers.

How much are you paying for transfer from Dalaman to Icmeler? And which operator. For me and my daughter it's 160 return, thought it was pricey, that's from apartment we staying at Uysal.

Next question. Have those who have been noticed a difference in prices since the pound's so weak. Are things more expensive than last year???

I've never been away alone before with me and my daughter, whose 4 before. Thought I'd venture to Icmeler and see how we go. Bit scared but sure it will be great.

Thanks everybody
Ruth and Carmen.

hi, thanks. Have you used these before? How were they?

Hi Ruth, I take it you mean 160 YTL and not £160 !! Working on the exchange rate in Turkey as of last friday of 2.27, this equates to £70.48p, which, for the length of journey seems a bit high. We pay £30( £7.50 per person each way) return from Bodrum to Altinkum, which is just over an hour away. I hope someone comes back to you with a cheaper operator.

As i've said in other discussions, Turkey is as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. The fact that the pound is weak has no bearing on your spending. We were out there in February and were able to eat very reasonably, we ate for as little as 22 ytl and that was a main meal with a soft drink. Be warned, that you may come in for some extra attention from the waiters who will keep Carmen entertained whilst you are having your meal or chilling out with a drink. So long as you keep them at arms length you will be fine. Enjoy your holiday.

I got it wrong, it's 60 pounds each way, 120 return.

Erm, not sure about extra attention, sounds scary. Ahem, I'll be ok, just careful and polite yet firm.

I'm going to take some food but even thought going sc don't plan on eating in much. Well not unless really pricey. I'm sure we be ok.

Thanks. Hopefully others will be along soon re transfer.

By 'extra attention' the poster just means that waiters in Turkey, like in most foreign holiday resorts, believe that if they try to 'chat you up' and 'flatter you' they will stand more chance of getting you to buy drinks/food from their establishment, because they work on a 'commission' basis, but am sure you already know this. Best to be firm as you already said, and avoid eating establishments where the waiters seem a bit too 'in your face'. Have observed that in most Middle Eastern countries a hand held out, palm outwards, together with a serious unsmiling expression, does the trick.
Have fun.

Hi HT folk....

We have just booked to go to the Hotel Bodrum Resort and Spa early July without transfers as Thomas Cook wanted an extra £20 per head x 4 to transfer us from Bodrum airport to our hotel and back.

I'm not 100% sure how far the hotel is away from the airport, but guessing it can't be that far and we can do our own transfers and save some money?? Can anyone advise on this and how much it might be if we either....

a) just got into a taxi at the airport and again from the hotel when we depart or
b) pre-booked through one of the many airport transfer sites

If b) then can anyone recommend anyone reliable who will be there on time etc and dont try to rip us off.

Having never been to Turkey before I don't know how regulated the taxi's are - I would always agree a price up front in any case, just wanted to hear what HT folk had done when in turkey themselves.

Thanks for your help, its always appreciated

Has anyone used altinkumtransfers from Bodrum to Altinkum? Price quoted £120 return for 6 people in a 7 seater mini-bus seems very reasonable.Or is it to good to be true?
