Hi All
I have just completed our API but to be honest it seems like a bit of security OTT, all the information is held on your passport anyway, and they scan that both at your departing airport and arrival airport this just seems like another piece of beurocratic busy bodying again.

Sorry, I've had to remove the quote for copyright reasons. By all means provide a link. Dazbo HT Mod
It is far better to provide this information in advance, then routine security checks can be carried out prior to arrival at the airport, and any unnecessary delays can be avoided.
Suspicious travellers can be identified before they arrive at the airport/on the aircraft. It may seem unnecessary to 'normal law-abiding citizens', but anything that keeps our Air Travel Safe is OK with me!

It is for a reason and that is advanced security checks and i am all for it.
We fly next Weds 2nd June and I,ve just entered API on T/C Airlines. Had no problem at all
Someone who works with my husband has told him we need to fill these forms in online before our holiday,
Is this correct

Travel Companys have them on their web sites. Just complete it and send.
If there is any major diffs then you can fill them in at the airport
Thanks I did ask Jet2hols and they said they were only for flight only passengers
It does depend which airline you are flying with though. My parents went last week with Monarch through Travel Repulic and they didn't need to do anything beforehand.
This is part of an email i recieved from Monarch Airlines:
Thanks everyone, I think ours will be done at the airport
so i imagine that this government already knows when somebody sus or useing a fake or stolen passport is traveling if we are to believe what they keep telling us.That they are on top of the situation.

....but this is my first time in Turkey
website lets me go so far as
bookng seats at an extra cost (whats that about) I have already paid for holiday but it won't let me go to next page .
You aren't the only one to struggle with API on Thomas Cooks website! Just keep trying and if you don't have any luck, don't worry, you can provide the information at check-in.
Darren
thanks Darren
Hi booked with On the beach and flying with onur air this Friday morning and have check out the manage your booking part of the site and cannot find any information regarding anything to do with API, will it be done at the airport do you think.
Different tour operators are collecting it in different ways. Have you tried looking in 'Manage Your Booking'? If not, they are collecting API information at check-in.
Darren
Hi Thanks for your very quick answer Darren, my mind was working overtime just then.
Are we supposed to bring the completed API copies to the airport. I completed mine on Thompsons web site and pressed send. Suppose they should have a copy
It's all done online - you don't have to do anything else or print a copy off to take to the airport with you.
