can anyone tell me if the first (front) row of premium is still pre-bookable or is it now classed as medical? have booked it twice before but that was 2008/2009...thanks
Yes, you can book the 1st row in Premium. We had the option of booking the 1st row last week when we phoned the airline, but opted for the rear seats in the cabin.

Pat
hi pat, thanks for that, How far in advance were you able to book? did they notify you when seats were available or did you just take a chance and ring up?
Thanks for the link Darren, much appreciated
Just give them a call and check on availability from 90 days before your departure date. Bear in mind the seats can be changed if someone needs them for medical reasons. You can always look online from 60 days before your departure date, but some may have been booked by then over the phone.

We fly out to Aruba on the 31st July, but I actually phoned the airline up about 8 weeks ago to find out when the seats would be available to book ...... I was told the 12th May, which is when I phoned back to book.
We received notification from Thomson on Friday informing us that we could now book our seats on line. Personally, I prefer to book direct with the airline and not online.
Pat
thanks pat, i worked out the date which will be 90 days beforehand so will ring them then rather than waiting for an email, like you say,a human is often more efficient to deal with than a machine too...most of the time, many thanks for your help.
I wonder if anyone can help me, I'm flying with Thomson from Gatwick to Santorini on June 15th. I think from the discution the aircraft will be a Boeing 757-200. Can anyone help with regards to pre-booking seats? It will cost £30 in total for outbound & return. In the thomson plan online in "my thomson" it currently shows over half of the aircraft unavailable, is this beacause these seats are already pre-booked? I wish to sit with my partner but feel its a bit of an unexpected expense to pre-book seats for a short haul holiday flight. What should I do? Bite the bullet or wait & hope for enough free space so we can sit together.
Many thanks
Matt

Half the aircraft will be reserved for non-meal customers, half for meal customers depending on what you have selected. As to whether to pre book when i travel i always do but its down to personal preference and how much risk you want to take.
Welcome onboard
Thomson Airways pre-assign seating the day before the flight using a best fit model taking in to account those that have meals, those that have pre-booked seating together and those that have selected their seat. A computer model then assigns everyone else seats in order to minimise passegers, especially families from being split up. However, it's inevitable some will be due to the nature of aircraft seating, but the system minimise it. If you don't want the peace of mind of pre-booking or selecting your seat, there's a pretty good chance that travelling as a couple you'll be sat together anyway, it's just not guaranteed. If you don't want to sit in a particular part of the aircraft, and aren't too bothered about the peace of mind, you should be fine in getting seats together. It tends to be larger families and groups where problems arise. But there is a slight risk you may be split it.

PS LGW-JSI-LGW (TOM4242/3) are operated by a Boeing 757-200 (winglets)
Sorry to be late on this post, I thought to pre book the actual seat number you have to Pay???? we have paid everytime we have used it.
It's changed slightly now. Depending on the holiday, if you pre-book seating together, this includes select your seat. I've done the same for my flights to Mexico later this year so can't wait until it's 60 days before!

Hi guys! Ive just booked a Carribean criuise leaving on 23rd Jan 11 and I believe the flight numbers to be TOM060 to La Romana from LGW and returning on 06 Feb 11 TOM061. Any idea what plane to expect here and seat plan as we would like to book seats in 2s. Im hoping for an Airbus A330 but notice they are using Boeings a lot since merging with First Choice. Thanks guys!!
Thomson and First Choice have always used B767-300's on long haul routes, it should be an ex TOM B767 with 2-4-2 seating, more information can be found on the What Aircraft guide.
Travelling TOM2316 Manchester to Paphos on 16 June. Any idea where the incoming flight is coming to Manchester from? Or will it be parked up overnight?
Hello, I am flying on the 04/07 to tunisia from bristol on Tom394 and flying back on the 18/07 on the TOM 395. Could you please let me know what aircraft we'll be flying on.
Your flights (TOM394/5) will be operated by a Boeing 757-200 (Winglets).
More aircraft information can be found in our what aircraft? guide (link in my signature)

Wow, thanks for the prompt answer!! Just counting down the next 7 months now! x x
The flight before yours should be the TOM443 from Sharm el-Sheik arriving into Manchester at 02:35 in the morning. It will then park up until it operates yours at 09:00
