Darren, Could you give me some advice please. Im travelling ManTCPMan on the 17August2010 TOM292/293. They have offered extra legroom seats 12B/C. Looking at the information you gave me earlier the extra legroom seats are row 11 and 32.

Can you please confirm if these are infact extra legroom. As I would have thought these would have been directly next to the exit door as row 11 is.

thanks

Garry

Garry_Nutter,

It's rows 12 and 32 on the 75W's that are extra legroom. Row 12 are in pairs, row 32 the usual 3's. There are seating plans linked from our What Aircraft? guide showing their positions. It's Thomas Cooks 752's were the exit row by the L/R2 door is row 11.

You can find links to seating plans here - http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=47950

It is likely to be an ex First Choice aircraft, however there have been problems this week and the Short Haul B767's are being used from Manchester in addition to the FC a/c. So basically the short answer is its impossible to know at the moment no matter what the schedule says.

aw god that doesnt sound good we have pre booked our seats and at the time chose 34 A and B ... it had seats both in front and behind on thomson website plan but from what I can gather the plane is not that lay out and 34 A and B have a bulkhead which would mean I think it would be best to change .. god im so worried !

Dont be worried the seats you have selected will be fine, and dont worry about the delays as they may well have been sorted by then, it would just be impossible to say which aircraft type would be used at short notice (for a change) as every day this week there has been a change to the original .

Hi, if they are using shorthaul aircraft on longhaul flights to cover problems does that mean there will be less legroom on the plane, and what about people who have paid for premier seating will this affect them as we are travelling to Cuba on the 15th july flight no tom173 in premier seating

jackmax,

You'll find aircraft information and the differences between the long and short haul aircraft on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). If for operational reasons the aircraft has to be changed, for example a technical problem, those with premium seats will get a refund for the sector they did not get the premium service. This is better than losing say a day of your holiday while the aircraft is put back in service.

Whats going on with Thomson flights at the minute, the M/cr - Larnaca last wednesday was delayed 4 hours, the M/cr - Dalaman was delayed from 8pm last night until 07.19 this morning, all the people on the flight were put up in Airport hotels... Is this a constant problem they are going to have during the summer?

Yes there will be a window at your seat and correct it will be 2-3-2, you will be close to the toilets and thats up to you whether you believe this is a good or a bad thing.

I was speaking with BEfreeTODAY yesterday about my seat selctions of 40A and 40B for my upcoming trip, LGW - MLE - LGW next sunday.

Im not sure I liked the idea of being next to the toilet and having other passengers 'stepping in' on me alot, (im probably guilty of doing it myself on occasion). I decided I wanted to change my seat and gave Thomson Airways a call, I have to say it was very straight forward, the customer service rep was excellent, polite and friendly. If the flight is as good as the call then we are in for a treat.

We now occupy 29F and 29G, having not actually seen an aircraft lay out im hoping we have been put in a better spot.

Cheers

keels71,

As you'll see from posts over the last couple of pages, Thomson Airways have had a few technical issues with aircraft over the last week or two that's cause delays and knock on delays to flights. It happens i'm afraid and should resolve itself and they'll get back on-track.

Dansqn,

Your new seats are in a quieter part of the aircraft but also remember seating is ultimatley personal preference. Some prefer the front, some the rear and some the middle. For me it's row 16. I'm sure you'll find row 29 fine though. Being close to toilets and galleys can sometimes be distracting with passengers coming and going all the time so I think you made he right choice. You'll find lots of aircraft information and my trip reports on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Have a great time in the Maldives :cheers :sun2

Hi,

I am flying flight TOM142 MAN-MBA next Thurs, does anyone know where this plane flies in from beforehand so I can check on any possible delays next week, as it seems to have been very delayed the last two weeks.

Thanks

Hi ltuk85

The flight is TOM188 to Male, and then operates TOM142 to Mombasa.

Thats a thought were flying out on the 16th on the Thompson flight M/cr - Larnaca where is that plane coming in from so I can keep an eye on
any incoming delay, and would it still be a 767 (I think you said Darren) 2-4-2?
Thanks again
