Hi,
We are landing at LAX at 11.00 p.m. so we are assuming that public transport to a hotel is out of the question. We know that it's about $80 to Hollywood by taxi - has anybody got any other suggestions. We haven't chosen where to stay yet. I'm a bit reticent to hire a car and drive so late at night in a strange place and also not sure if you could pick it up at nearly midnight.
Thanks in advance
We Used Supershuttle...to take us to Buena Park....seems a funny time to arrive when flying from the Uk to USA....we always arrived mid afternoon.....theres a website if you need info..maybe best to email them concerning time.
We are flying in from Maui and their flights are either night flights (which we REALLY didn't fancy) or afternoon hence arrival so late. We are looking for a hotel on the West side of LA as we probably won't be able to check in after midnight and the East side might be too far. Life is never simple eh?
Why not just get a room at an airport hotel for that night, then venture out to the desired area in the am, or get a shuttle ( shared van ride). If you arrive at eleven pm it's going to be probably closer to midnight before you get through Immigration and Customs...
Will they have to go through immigration when flying from Maui, I didn't when I flew from Oahu? As emdia43 says why not stay in a airport hotel. I stayed overnight in one a few years ago when I arrived late at night, it was just a couple of minutes from the terminal.
i would also stay,at an airport hotel.it will be so much easier, than trying to get to your destination,at that time of night.
Oh, good catch Judith- I didn't think of that, I didn't pay attention to where they flew in from.
hmmm I'm not sure then.
the flight back from hawali, they wont go through immigration be classed as an internal flight wont it.....go throught immigration on the way out there i reckon..but never been not 100% sure..always wanted to go..but the flight to LA,san Francisco always been long enough for me...another 4-5 hrs...not for me.
Why are the simplest ideas always the ones where you say, "Why didn't I think of that?" Doh!
Hilton are doing a 25% off deal at the moment so for $102 we can stay at the airport and have breakfast in the morning. We will probably shuttle to Hollywood the next day - we are looking at Hilton Universal on that side.
Thanks again, there is always a wealth of advice on here
I've never been to Hawaii but would also be surprised if you had to go through immigration at LAX. Since HI is a US state, that wouldn't make much sense to me since it's really an internal flight.
We have now booked Hilton Lax for the first night and then Hilton Universal City for the other 4 nights. All hotels are booked now and just the finer details of the itinery to fill in. Woooooooooo
