Hi All,
I know this has probably been asked may times before, but does anyone know of an 'authentic' Tapas bars in or around the Fanabe area? We're staying in the Aparthotel Altamira, but we're not bothered if it means a taxi into Los Cristianos etc. I've also seen some posts regarding Otello's, or Otello's 2? It's supposedly a chicken restaurant with very good reviews - anybody know of it, can tell me the location, or even anywhere that they believe is as good? Just looking for pointers for where to eat, but we really don't want the 'touristy / commercialised' places that adorn the seafronts......am I being to picky?
Anyway, any information would be greatly received - and we're very familiar with this part of the island, so we know our way around...

Found Othello's II bar - it's on the Fanabe strip of restaurants and bars, where Bentley's and Loch Ness is. We never made it there unfortunately, but will be trying when we next visit.
We were advised by bar staff in the aparthotel to try La Tasca de mi Abuelo's in Los Cristianos (it's at the back of the San Marino complex). What a great night we had, the place is really quite small, but the atmosphere and the food was fabulous. Served by a really helpful lady who spoke both Spanish and English, we basically asked for certain dishes in Spanish, and if they were on the menu that day she would write it down, if not she would suggest something else appropriate. We had gambas con ajillo, tempura, chorizo al vino, tortilla espanyol to name but a few, and the bill was avery reasonable at 66 euros for the 4 of us (this included 3 San Miguels and 3 large glasses of Rioja). Another 'must' de Tenerife!!!
Cheers
Your not too far from La Caleta, a beautiful little fishing village which is famous for fish restaurants but also as a few tapas bars down by the sea near Pisces Restaurant, wonderful spot, nice food very spanish, enjoy
