How do you get the web-cam Llindy?

Actually, I'm hoping it's quite quiet when we go in September. I'm not a great lover of crowds. :yikes

marmaris is very very busy with most hotels and apartments full. Icmeler on the other hand was busy at the beach but the streets were very quiet. Apparently not all hotels or apartments are full. We went to Icmeler for the day and we couldn't believe how quiet it was.

I was thinking the same thing Llindy,
This is a snapshot I took from the live camera a few minutes ago. It's looking rather empty and it was the same at 9.30 last night

Sorry Shirley, I've had to remove the snapshot as we aren't permitted to host photos unless the poster is the copyright holder. Snapshots from webcams aren't therefore allowed. Dazbo HT Mod

Marmaris is the busiest, a bit like a Turkish Blackpool, plenty of crowds in the summer and loud music wherever you go. Not for the fainthearted, or anyone who generally doesn't like to drink too much.
Icmeler, is quieter, prettier, and has better beaches, so for us it was a welcome escape from the brashness of Marmaris, a much better choice. But depends what you want, however, in another week or two when the schools finish I should imagine that even quiet resorts will start to get noisy.

No problem Dazbo- didn't think about that.

We'll be in that bar in just over 3 weeks. Probably it will be busier then as it's British school hols time- not that I like crowds but it will help to create more of an atmosphere and maybe with more customers, the prices might be more competitive :que

Icmeler is too quiet for me. The streets were dead, no cars, no people...nothing. The shop owners commented on how quiet the resort was still. Im sure it will pick up.

Marmaris was busy as per usual.

Thanks for that Llindy. :tup
I just managed to get the Tonoz beach one up. (terribly slow broadband speed here in the back and beyond of Cornwall).

I just wanted to jump in there with them!! :D
We've never been to that part of Turkey before, so it's great seeing it live on webcam.
It's made me even more impatient for my hols though!!! :sun2

Hello... I returned back from Icmeler last week and though that it was quiet. Still love the place though and would not want anything bustling but I did feel not as many tourists around, perhaps too early in season, I don't know really...

Oh well, here's hoping for a cheapie return in August...lol :cheers

We hate busy resorts, so avoid going away during peak season, but if you go in July/August you are pretty sure to hit the crowds.
It's a good thing some people prefer noise and crowds though, for they can all go to resorts like Marmaris and leave the quieter ones for everyone else to enjoy.
Have fun.

I'm with you there Suzy.
We've never liked busy resorts, fairgrounds, 'kiss me quick' hats, and the like.
Give me a beautiful sunset, sitting on a beautiful terrace, sipping a glass of cold wine,
in peace and quiet any day. :D

Spoke to a friend last night from Icmeler, he was saying that the resort is a lot quiter than normal for this time of year.

Have other resorts noticed this???

I've been watching the webcams in Olu, and Buzz bar, and can't believe how quiet it is there.
Perhaps everyone's going to be there when I'm there in September :que
I think everyone's down here in Cornwall. We can't move for tourists!!! :rofl

If you think that Turkey is quiet this year, imagine how much more quieter other resorts in Europe are !!my sister is in Tenerife and she has never seen it so quiet there.Turkey may be one of the top resorts this year, but sadly so many people are having to holiday in the UK for the first time,my daughter included.

Perhaps it's the impact of all inclusive!!!!

We were in Dalyan back in June and the resort was lovely and quiet with probably around only 60 guests. It was the same in the town, not too busy but not too quiet either. I couldn't stand somewhere like Marmaris, like someone has said, it's like the Blackpool of Turkey and for me that would mean a load of British loudmouthed chavs lol.

We were in Icmeler at the end of May/beginning of June and it wasn't all that quiet then - I believe quite a few of the hotels are fully booked now and for the next month or so, so business can't be all that bad.

Just back from Icmeler on Friday, I thought it was busy enough and with the English holidays just about to start it will be busier this next few weeks. What you might find is the people that went May then September in the past may only take the one holiday now.
