So each time I took out aprox £250 I got 300 euros, Where as if I'd used the local exchange I'd have got 250 x 1.15 = 287.5 euros.
So from November, at Nationwides 1.20 rate my £250 will get me (300 - 2% = 294 euros - £1 which would be about 292.8 euros) So 292.8 euros.
This would still make me 5 euros better off than changing in resort or before I went.
Even if you took out only £100 each time you'd still be slightly better off than using local!
Mind you knowing me I'd probably take out £500 at a time so only paying the £1 once or twice! lol
They phoned me back to register that they had received my complaint. The girl I spoke with hinted that they had received lots of complaints about this. I mentioned in in my branch as well and they didn't seem to know anything about it!
Works out at approx. £1 per £100 per month if paid in full (no interest free period if paid in full and rates from 12.9% for those with good credit ratings, higher for the dodgy ones, up to 21.9%).
Saga is an alternative for the over 50's.
Hoping the Nationwide backs down or someone else, like say the agressive Santander takes the baton from them in full.

You can only withdraw the equivalent of £300 per person per day from a Nationwide FlexAccount. Both can withdraw the same if it is a joint account.
An alternative may be to order in advance from Crown Currency Exchange. Today they are offering €1.2177 for delivery in the middle of September.
