we booked this hotel as we heard its quiet well quietish but yet only mins away from the town centre etc and the views are supposed to be immence !!!
anyways we have no knowlege of turkey so im searching high and low on the internet about the history of the place etc and learning the money etc etc
does anyone have any tips or any views on the place we are going
and the big question is do turkey do very good imitations of manchester united shirts?? LOL
anyways thanx for looking
cheeers
Everyone staying there looked happy enough and there were ducks wandering round - so cute! It is a little out of town, we walked back and took ages but I think we got lost to be honest!
Not stayed at that resort or hotel but we have just come back from Turkey on Monday - it was our first visit to Turkey. We loved it!
We had already booked for summer 2011 to the Canaries but when we came back we have ammended our holiday and are going back to Turkey, we were that impressed.
It was hot in August (mid 40's) so i bet Sept will be much nicer and you will be able to lie in it much longer!
Enjoy
Louise
cheers ladys we cant wait !!! how much is the bottle water out there? and effes ? oh and what kind of food do they do ? im not one for foreighn food [ i know people say ya should try the countrys own food, which i will !!] but i love my english food
You and your girlfriend will love it. Hisaronu is a great little party town without being too 18 - 30.
There a lots of places to visit. Olu Deniz beach being one of them. If you want to go round to the lagoon don't go into the paid area, just walk beyoud the entry gates for about 7 mins and you come to sugar beach. Fab bar and restaurant and nice sandy beach. link here

You can do paragliding from the main beach. They take you up the Mountain Babadag and it takes 25 mins or more to paraglide down. (A must and you get a fab view of the lagoon)
You can get a bus from Hisaronu to Fethiye which has a lovely harbour where you get loads of boat trips.
Food is fabulous everywhere, all types - never had a bad meal, even on a boat trip.
so im glad there aint many rowdy imature young groups there
what are the boat trips like ? wouldent mind doing a couple of excursions where we can see some sights and chill out getting a tan

I loved the Saklikent Gorge and Turtle beach trips.
The rafting trip or jeep safari are supposed to be fun.
We are going on a 3 day gulet trip (wooden sailing boat) with them in September this year.
Hi Andyandmel and welcome to HT. You will find that water is very cheap, go to the weekly market in Fethiye and yes, you will get a good fake Man U shirt, make sure you haggle over the price. Take the time to speak to the local people, they will be a major part in you enjoying the Turkey experience. You should come back with a good tan but evenings will be cooler and you may get the odd shower of rain.
you will find there is a monday market in hisaronu, where they sell genuine fake football shirts! the market is a slightly scaled down version of the one in fethiye on a tuesday, which is fantastic, however if its a hot day it can be quite tiring.
One bit of advice, if you go on a boat trip, go on one of the ones that leave fethiye and not from olu as it can be quite tricky getting on the boat from the beach at olu. try the dolmus, the local bus service, it will take you down to olu deniz, they are very frequent and cheap. they stop right at the beach, where you can board the bus back to hisaronu. its slightly cooler in hisaronu as you are up higher and you notice a difference when you have been walking round getting sweaty in olu or fethiye. we go there every september and come back with gorgeous tans. you have to try a turkish bath as has already been suggested, must be at the start of your holidays though. it is lovely to be pampered this way.
As has already been said there are loads of places to eat, and you will find all kinds of food you are familiar with, we always stay at the hisar holiday club in centre of town and their restaurant is great and has lovely views across the town.
I bet you will come back in love with the place, we all do
hugs la
Whats a lad from Leeds doing buying a Man. U shirt still when you get home you can all ways swop it for a one from a good team. . only kidding, enjoy your hols and as for non turkish food every bar in Hisonaru does full english breakfast, sausage and chips, steak and chips, curry etc. as well as the excellent Effes beer, i bet you put on weight before you come home
This will be our 2nd visit to Turkey, the first time was in mid October,
and it was still very hot even then.
Try the sunset boat cruise that Carole and Tayfun do.
They pick you up at 6pm and return you to your hotel after midnight.
I haven't tried it yet, but my next door neighbour is still raving about it.
I've booked up loads of tours and boat trips on-line. It works out cheaper that way.
You never know, we may even meet you on board for the sunset cruise
Yes the sunset cruise is excellent with Carole and Tayfun's boat. I'd recommend a trip to Saklikent Gorge as well
thankyou all again
we are flying from manc with thomas cook has anyone else been on this flight? will there be a film on ? also which route will the plane take ?? also which aircraft will it be this is the flight code TCX139K
yes im a geek
Prices seem about the same as here so we are allowing £100 per day for the 2 of us, which sounds about the same as you.
Have a great time!
If yu intend visiting any of the lagon beaches you can give them a ring from your hotel and they'll send a minivan to pick you up free of charge. I've got the phone numbers of the various lagoon beaches (Sugar, Paradise, Seahorse and Billy's) here somewhere- so if you need them let me know and I'll hunt them out for you.
I'm sure you'll have a great holiday.
All the best!
Thomas Cook have stopped showing films and also the inflight radio/entertainment that was available thru the headphone socket in the armrest but as it is only a four hour flight it will be ok.As for spending money you should be ok with that amount of money but i am sure that like all people you will keep a check on what you spend for the first few days and budget from there.

Please refer to our dedicated Thomas Cook Airlines topic over on the flights forum. General aircraft information is on our What Aircraft? guide (link in my signature below).
