These were common when the various east European countries joined the EU and people came here looking for jobs. They were advertised with legal minimum wages but the accomodation was deducted at massively inflated prices leaving them with the equivalent of about £2 an hour!! Find out what accomodation is worth before getting involved.

This gives you an idea of what is reasonable to earn, even if you end up taking into account your accommodation costs if you get work that has accommodation in with it. I'm sure there are still dodgy operators around out there ready to take advantage of those who haven't a clue.
