Just returned from a very average week in Sharm (Average hotel, I mean, The Oriental Resort)

My complaint (well, rant) is about other people!!

On the way over there two women decided to get blind drunk on the duty free they had bought at Manchester Airport and have a cigarette in her seat, meaning when we arrived at Sharm airport we had to stay in our seats for 30 mins while we waited for the Egyptian Airport Police to come and arrest her and take her off the plane. She had already had her return ticket confiscated and destroyed in front of her face, so after the initial shock of what she had done the other passengers found it quite amusing. As you can imagine, these silly women's actions were a topic of conversation for the whole of the holiday.

So, a week later and we are on our way home. Some lads in their thirties were sitting behind us, trying to chat up the cabin crew and generally kicking the back of our seats, getting up every five minutes and being annoying. They stank of whiskey so I'm assuming they had done the duty free trick too. Eventually one of the lads decides to have a cigarette in the toilet. It was blindingly obvious what he had done and exactly who it was but he denied it all and kicked up a stink when the purser refused to let him have any duty free until he got off the plane (he could buy and pay for it but they would hold onto it until we landed). Unbelievably this utter T***pot was let off! Nothing was done about him smoking. All of the crew knew who it was and no effort was made to have him arrested or cautioned AT ALL.

This has really, really put me off package holidays for a long long time. I'll stick to camping in France and holidays to the Greek islands that don't attract idiots from now on.

By the way, I am a smoker. If I cant have a fag for 5 hours on a plane, I'm sure as hell no b*gger else should!
