Terripin, I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. I would say first and foremost claim off your insurance but I'm assuming you have done this as they would have paid for your hospitalisation. If it's compensation you're after, I'm not sure what to advise. Was there a sign nearby saying slippery surface? Although if it was a waterpark sense says it's slippery. Maybe, somebody else can offer you more constructive advice.
Hope your arm improves soon.

Questions.

How did you book your holiday? Was it DIY - a Tour Operator or an agent? If a TO was a report submitted via the rep? Have you had any further contact with them? What have your insurers had to say?

What has the hospital/Doctor had to say about your injury/treatment in Bulgaria? Have they advised you of any possible long term problems.

Sorry if it seem like we are interrogating you but we do need more information if we are to give any meaningful advice.

Terripin, sorry to hear about your accident, but your holiday insurance should cover you for personal injury expenses and subsequent loss of earnings...

As for compensation... well they may be in the EU but proving negligence from such a distance will be nigh impossible..

Did you show your EHIC card at the time to get treatment on the same financial terms as the locals or did you have to pay up front?

Hi, How are you feeling? I hope your injury is a lot better now. I have been in a similar situation when going to the supermarkets and slipping over and getting back and neck injuries as there was no warning sign. I know that it is not totally the same situation as yours is based abroad but the company I used McKeowns Solicitors Northern Ireland may be able to help in your situation, and I think they have a free phone number so it might be a good idea to ask them for advice. A little tip make sure which ever organisation you use has a no win no fee policy as otherwise your claim is going to be very expensive.

There's actually a legal company that HT have an arrangement with, see this thread:

They appear to be 'Holiday Claims Specialists', although of course you can use whichever company you wish if you are going down the legal route.
