Hi, not even sure if I am posting this in the right section..but ...
we boked a liveaboard with RegalDive to go on the Northern wrecks and reefs tour in December 10 on board the Blue 02 vessel MT Blue Horizon. This is our 2nd trip with them as we enjoyed the first so much.
When we made the booking, we booked a double cabin. There are 4 of them on board and are on the middle deck. The other cabins are all below decks in the bowels of the ship and are bunk beds..
we have paid in full for this holiday, just under £2000 and suddenly, the day after we have paid them £1600 remaining balance, we get an email from them saying we are in a twin cabn, in bunk beds in the bowels of the boat and that our double cabin is no longer available.
Rob rang them and asked them what they throught they were doing and they said we were told at the time of the booking in July that we could only have a twin cabin. This is not the case, never has been the case etc...and now we are wondering what we can do about is as we most certainly would not have booked the holiday unless we had the double cabin.
We also suspect that we have been downgraded becuase there was a group block booking 2 weeks ago. We know this is true as it was someone we knew who rang and booked 2 places on a Monday only to be rung back by Regal to be told the price had just gone up on the Tuesday if they wanted the last double cabin as there was a block booking that had just confirmed and they had been allocated the double cabins...so our friend told them where to get off as he had booked first and refused to pay extra for something he had booked in the first place.
we have all the original papers, nowhere on it does it say we have been allocated a twin cabin with bunk beds...
I am really annoyed at being treated so shabbily so close to our holiday and when there is little chance of us getting a refund. I feel we have been mis-sold at the very least.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I added a copy in to our complaints forum so you may get an answer and some advice in there http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=148597

Thanks Graham.
we dont have a twin cabin in the bowels of the boat..I don't know who spoke to who but we are now more than happy with what we have been offered by Regal Dive and it appears that the original information about having the twin bunk has been mis-interpretted somewhere between time of booking and time of payment....so hats off, big thumbs up to Regal for sorting this so quickly ( I understand the guy who spoke to Rob is called Andrea's) and apologies for any further confusion.......and I have to praise them for sorting it so quickly.
We have been really looking forward to this holiday and if it is anything like the last one we had with them...we will absolutely love it
Pleased you got it sorted Val......
But, that said, they have always had a good reputation within the dive community..some rate them as the very best which is why we booked with them and why we re-booked with them..so I guess good customer service is paramount..and they did the business.
I have been on Blue Horizon and can confirm that the lower deck cabins are not bunks, very few if any of the newer redsea liveaboards have, boats are much better than they were in the days of bunk beds and shared facilities.
