Read that somewhere in Greece had a mudslide a couple of days ago due to heavy rain.

i always look at the weather forecast for abroad in my daily paper , and have been surprised at the temps in Crete yesterday it was reported at 28 degrees warmer than the cananries

Yes, it has been unseasonally warm here, but the temp has now dropped over the last day or so to more like the usual, about 16-18C over much of Greece. The north mainland & the more northerly islands are cooler though, & it's cold in the northern mountainous regions (not much above 0C). Heavy rains in the north & into Albania have caused some problems.
Down here in the far south it's been a lovely sunny day though, had a drive up into the hill villages, great view, it was really bright & clear. We normally only see snow in the far distance, on the mountain peaks, but there's none there this year yet.

Not much snow around the Ski resorts although they generally get going around mid January..

A couple of years back the skiing was hit hard with a lack of snow and a mild winter..

My Greek friends on Rhodes are still swimming.No snow there!!!
