Talking of the Landmark , we first went in year 2000 and paid £33 for the room per night !!!!!!!!!!!!
We are just back from the Phachara suites on soi 6 which were very good, we called into the Landmark Bakery and the Huntsman pub a few times
I've looked at suites and keep thinking we might give them a go sometime.
Any restaurants you found in your latest trip?
We had 5 nights in Bangkok in total Fiona and mainly ate in the Khaosan area as we stayed there at the start of the holiday, but I did try Mrs Balbir's Indian restaurant on soi 11 , it was excellent well worth a visit, very smart restaurant and delicious food.
Mrs Balbir- I have never of that one. Will look out for it!
It is definitely worth a visit Fiona if you fancy an Indian one night , it has a website and is on the Nancy Chandler map too
Thailand does seem to get in your blood - we too are returning in early March, Bangkok, Krabi and Hua Hin - We missed Thailand last year, spending our SE Asia trips in Borneo, KL (twice - yes I know!) and Bali.
Interesting that you would consider a suite at the Landmark. Our last stay there was in a suite and we were not over impressed. The living area was sparsely furnished and, to be honest, we found the Club Corner rooms to be far more to our liking.
We got a reasonable deal at the Shangri La - it really is worth joining their Golden Circle club (partner stays free and free breakfast for both) it does bring down the cost. Last year we stayed in 3 Shangri La s and were upgraded on 2 occasions (hope for an upgrade in Bangkok this time )
As you may recall we are doing the Sofitel in HH (club rooms) as you seemed to enjoy it on your last visit and then club rooms at the Sheraton in Krabi.
Not long now till July - you will soon believe that you have done it again!
Cheers
Peter
We are members of the Golden Circle Club as we have been to several but perhaps we just weren't lucky with the dates.
Re Suites- I meant the various suite accomodations that are becoming more popular in BKK. I haven't stayed in a suite in the Landmark. Like you, we like corner club rooms I'm pleased to see that Landmark now are part of a loyalty scheme.

I booked through them so hopefully we will find some sort of bonus as you don't gain points or miles like other schemes.
You will love the Sofitel- you are going more upmarket then we did! If you already have club booked they may offer you a deal on the villas when you arrive.
