Hi Sun Addict,
I started the thread asking for feedback from customers who had recently had Premium booked to understand the extent of the problem. As i said on T.A., i understand that technical difficulties can occur but i would not have travelled if i knew Premium wasn't available. If Thomson can tell their customers in resort three days before that the plane will not have Premium they can tell those that are due to travel in my opinion.
I am quietly convinced they chose not to do this as they would not expect people to cancel once at the airport. Aside from this, it is appalling customer service to not be able to offer a service paid for, in most cases some months before, and then not proactively manage the refunds that people are due.
Cheers,
Tracey
I agree sometimes their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They bumped us onto at Thos Cook flight a couple of years ago, and then we had a 12.5 hour delay before flying. Communication was not at it's best lol.
I honestly don't think it would make any difference to when they told you. Is anyone actually going to cancel and lose all the money they've paid? If they change aircraft, cancelling is not a option they give you unfortunately.
I received a call from the Thomson rep at 4pm local time yesterday to say the flight had been delayed 24 hours but gave no reason.
May I ask what T.A is? Cheers
Hi Sleeper,
Thank you.
I have just been informed by the Thomson rep at the resort that TOM145 is scheduled to depart 24 hours late, therefore we should arrive back in Manchester on Monday morning. We have the same collection time from resort so flight times apparently remain the same.
I am being informed mechanical issue with the plane.
Im flying LGW-SSH on the 8th Febuary flight TOM536.
Return flight 15th Febuary flight TOM537.
Would you be able to tell me what aircraft i would be travelling on?
Thanks
LGW-SSH-LGW (TOM536/7) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

With winglets? Will it be an ex FCA or Thomsonfly?
It's too early to know as aircraft are rotated on a regular basis (weekly). It's been a former First Choice wingletted aircraft (in the Thomson Airways livery) so far in December, but was a mixture of ex-FCA and ex-TOM wingletted and non-wingletted in November.

Does Anyone know what planes are operation TOM158/9 MAN-GOI.
Just wondered if its normally an ex FCA bird or TOM?
Thanks.
We're on flight Manchester to Cancun TOM144 1st January coming back TOM145 15th January ( hopefully flights are running on time by then ). What I wanted to ask was are the IFE listings out for these flights yet.
Thanks in advance
Irene
IFE for January/February is not out yet Irene.
davies2911,
Thank you.
Hi everyone. Booking a holiday hopefully tomorow to sharm el sheikh and I am wondering about planes. I am a real nervy flyer and with 2 of us going do not like sitting in the 757 3-3 configuration and sitting next to someone i dont know! Is it mainly gatwick which use the 767s for the sharm trip? Does anyone know the plane used for the TOM 536 from gatwick in june next year? Coming back TOM 495. Thanks if anyone can help
As previously mentioned there were no amenity packs in Premium class on either the outbound or inbound flight, on the outbound we were told they would be provided on the inbound, when someone asked for them on the return leg we were told they hadn't been loaded.
On our return to Manchester we were given a letter for our insurance companies to claim for the delay - why aren't we claiming off Thomson ?
Cancun airport was chaos, information said boarding, we were left standing in a queue for almost an hour before boarding started, then Premium were boarded last.
Not sure what I paid £280 for - would I pay it again - don't think so.

Why not ask for an aisle seat, get your partner to sit in the middle.
The European court decision to pay compensation has been referred back to the European Court of Justice.
As much as a long delay is not good, I personally would take the delay to get an aircraft that is longhaul configured, rather than being stuck with 29" legroom, which is what seems to have been happening to a few Thomsons flights.
