The Mirage Appartments are lovely (as are most places in Icmeler). They are located just yards from the south end of the beach and are handily placed for all the bars and restaurants. The dolmus passes right in front of the Mirage and there's a couple of small Spar type shops within walking distance.
We stayed there a couple of years back and found that it was occupied by a fairly mixed bunch. The hotel customers, however, seemed to be mostly Germans and east Europeans. The lower pool is in front of the apartments and is relatively quiet with the top pool being the central point for games and a bar.
To summarise, I'd say that the Mirage is a fairly good base with entertainment laid on every night and wouldn't have a problem staying there again. However, if your heart is set on Icmeler, then let John Toohey and Rami look after you. They will be cheaper and better that any of the UK TO's (they might even buy you a drink).

hi there all - is there anyone out there booked intothe mirage for next year - i am aware of changes being made over the winter and we have booked bed and breakfast with eclipse for next may . it now looks as if both first choice/eclipse and jmc have taken the mirage off their systems. has anyone heard anything about their booking (maybe we will get upgraded to all inclusive if thats whats going on for free!!!!). are john/rami taking bookings for next year if so does anyone know what board basis. unfortunately i need to speak to customer services at eclipse and they are not there today. PLEASE HELP
Hi, when we were in Marm the other week we were told that they were going to "knock down" the Mirage Apts and build a new AI hotel. The Mirage hotel further back, in front of the Captain Silver Apts was only built a few years ago, so I expect that they are keeping that bit?? There have been poor reviews about the original Mirage accomm recently...seems they have let things go?

tks for replies - well this should be interesting!!!! - lets see what first choice are going to do with my booking for bed and breakfast- john what are you quoting for 2 x twin rooms (2 adults 3 children) with flights) all inclusive (we usually do A/I inyway so would be quite happy with that )need to be prepared in case i need to book elsewhere.
Our office is a stones throw away from the Mirage as you know and the manager is a friend of Rami's and we haven't been given any idea of the prices yet.
I should be in Icmeler Monday evening you will have some idea at the end of the week of the new prices.
John
thanks john - please keep me posted of new prices when you get them
I can`t believe there buliding another big horrible All Inclusive, I think there is anough already!
any help would be appreciated in helping me decide. by the way we normally do A/I anyway because even in turkey it works out better value for our family with 3 teenage boys who eat all day!! - sorry i know the A/I option wont go down well with many members.
If you dont plan to stay in the complex for meals and drinks £500 seems a lot of money just to buy snacks for the kids.

We have been reading this link since it was first posted in october with great interest as we were booked into the Mirage Appartments for August this year. We phoned Direct Holidays in November to be told 'don't worry about it, whatever holiday you have booked will be honoured' !!. Then at the weekend when we read on the link that the appartments were possibly being knocked down to make way for more hotel rooms on an all inclusive basis we started to get really worried and phoned Direct again.
This time we were told that we were no longer booked to go to the Mirage but they had moved us to the Maxin Appts in Marmaris, apparantly a letter was on its way to us. After telling them that we definately didn't want to go to Marmaris as we went to Icmeler in Aug 2003 and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to go back they eventually moved us to the Captain Silver Appts, which we were pleased with as this is were we stayed last time.
This spurred me on to register with Holiday Truths (something that I have been meaning to do for some time) just to let people know what was happening with the Mirage Appts.
Luckily it hasn't been too dissapointing for us as we were still able to get into the Captain Silver Appts but if we had waited for Direct to let us know it could have been a different story. So thankyou for the forewarning.
Looking forward to our holiday in August, Husband been moaning about lack of efes since 2003.
Just paid the balance of my holiday to mirage - anyone know how the refurb is going - still appear to be honouring my booking at B+B prices - Firstchoice has told me that the mirage is honouring the B+B bookings for this year but hoping for a free A/I upgrade when we get there - .
Hi i just got back from icmeler sunday and all works are still going on but say they will complete very soon, quite what that means your guess is as good as mine but should be finished for season start
thanks for that loftyj - yes im sure everything will be finished - i booked the mirage after the good reports it had but reports for last year were a bit of a mixed bag!!! I just hope it wont be a "cheap and nasty" A/I. But at least we will have the option with the B+B price
The mirage refub is going very well and there is no reason why it wont be finished. It was a lovely hotel and apart to begin with and i am confident that will continue. From what i have seen when i went past the other day, its looks lovely. The only thing i would say is that i doubt very much they will upgrade you fee to all inclusive, they will more likely give you the option to upgrade if you pay a supplement to the hotel.
thanks tokmak - we would probably do that if the price was reasonable and the food looked good but I wouldnt upgrade before we go as would like to check it out first and you just never know it could be First choice that are honouring our b+b price and it looks like it is now being sold completely on an A/I basis and it depends whether they are still segregating for A/I and B+b it doesnt sound like they are. I know your right and they would prob suggest we upgrade when we get there - but you just never know - i have friends that have booked accomodation on arrival for bed and breakfast - they got taken to the sun city olu deniz which is A/I and thats what they got - compliments of the
We are booked to go to The Mirage in September. Before we booked heard lots of good reports, BUT thisyear it has gone AI and the apartments were being pukked down etc., has anyone been this year. I know it is early season but is it as good?
Thanks
BJH
You will find a review from someone who was there last month on the link below. At least i think its the same place, they are calling it Mirage World.
