Yes, we stayed there for just one night in October. The hotel is in the centre of the town and not far from the beach. The rooms were fine and clean. It was a bit noisy as our room overlooked the main street and all the bars. We enjoyed the food there. Olu Deniz has a beautiful pebbly beach and the sea was wonderful. On the down side though Olu Deniz is the most expensive place in Turkey that I have visited and I have been to many up and down the coast. Restaurants and bars are expensive and the cost of beach beds was unbelievable. You could be anywhere as it is very Brit orientated so I would recommend hiring a car and getting out sometimes or at the very least hop on a bus to Fethiye or go and visit another place on a tour. That said it is a very beautiful place with stunning scenery.

we stayed here at the end of april beginning of may two years ago for four days, the rooms were lovely, the hotel clean and the food very good ,it is in a fantastic location right in the centre of olu deniz. The staff were all polite and helpful and didnt once hassle us to buy drinks at the bar or eat at the hotel.Unless things have changed dramatically over the last two years you will have a lovely time. The only reason we havent returned to this hotel is we decided that there are different areas of turkey we prefer to olu deniz but personally i wouldnt hesitate in recommending the asena beach to anyone.

Kelly,

Yes Olu is more expensive than other resorts but simply hop on a Dolmus up to Hisaronu or Fethiye or if you are adventurous even further and you will find the prices are much cheaper, you are paying a premium for staying on the beach! The dolmus is very cheap and are very frequent!

The beach beds are expensive but if you go into the beach clubs on the Lagoon you will find they are a lot cheaper generally.

Alternatively buy a lilo, (about 6/7 lira), and head along the beachfront to the left past the sunbeds and you will find a lovely sandy section of the beach and lay there free of charge for the day!! But shhhhh don't tell anybody this!! :D

It is much quieter here but there are no facilities so buy yourself a bottle of frozen water from the supermarket and a sandwich on the way down and lay back and enjoy the stunning scenery!! :)

I have also booked the Asena Beach this year, this is our 5th visit but first time to the Asena but have heard good things and have eaten at Captain Hooks their, "A la Carte" restaurant at least once every year and are always impressed.

Kelly,

Take sterling and change in resort you will get a much better rate!!

Change about £50/100, (depending on party size!), into Lira in the UK to get you through your initial arrival and then you can change up your Pounds into Lira in resort.

Most shops will change your money up, look around for the best deals, the bag shop, (Gladys), is often the best she is at the top of the strip near the Karbel Hotel on the left as you walk up.

Just make sure that you check the money you have been given, make it easy so change up in multiples of £100 so if the exchange rate is 2.25 you know you should get 225TL. Some people have been caught out afterwards having been short changed, check as you would here, for some reason when on holiday we let our guards down and trust everyone!!

If you want to know any more don't hesitate to ask!

do they accept euros out there? kelly

Yes they do accept Euros but you will get charged commission to change to Euros in the first place unless you already have them from a previous holiday so you will lose money.....
