We have stayed at the Sunrise Beach numerous times and always travel with Thomsons but they always price match other legitimate quotes from other travel companys so we always pay less than originally quoted. We usually find Olympic to be the cheapest but you can also go with First choice and Thomas cook. Also Broadway Travel seems to be cheap this year for the Sunrise Beach but we have never travelled with them. Booking the hotel only also is a good option but its the flights that we find expensive as there are four of us.

Its a fab hotel and im sure youll have a great wedding.

The Sunrise is VERY popular for Weddings so I would agree with my fellow Wizard and suggest you try haggling direct there are lots of flights out to Cyprus from the UK not sure who is the cheapest at present but it constantly swings as each one tries to outdo the other and don't forget block bookings get discount and don't let the TA tell you otherwise

Check this out carefully. There is an awful lot of building work going on - at the moment the beach is really a mess

Was just wondering if anyone has been here recently and been to where the construction work is going on? Just read a review on this hotel and it says the beach is fenced off due to the construction work, anyone have any ideas how long this work will be going on for?

Hi Sarah the building work is due to be completed by April 2012 it is next to the Sunrise some say it is an extention to the sunrise it is a massive construction site at the moment.

I would be most upset if I was booked into this hotel this summer.. I do think the coastal path work and the beach will be made to look okay for the main season though.

Me and my partner are flying out on the 8th to get married at the Sunrise beach hotel, we had heard about the construction work last week so contacted our travel agent who has assured us all work will have been stopped from the 1st of May due to the holiday season, they did not how ever say what the condition of the beach would be in.

obviously to late for us to do anything about it now but you would have thought they would pre-warn people, Ingrid have you been there recently, where are you getting you info from - if anyone else has any recent photos please could you post them

Matt, I have not been in resort this spring but if you go on to trip advisor, click travel forum then click, (Vrissiana Hotel and Building Work) you will find links to some photos taken in the past week of the building plot and the coastal path progress

The travel forums on trip advisor have many threads about protaras/coastal path work and building work.
