Does anyone have any experiences of the Sunrise Beach hotel? Going there in August and it looks lovely. On the whole the reviews are good but there are a few who complain about the state of rooms and connecting doors between neighbouring rooms. Anyone who can clear this up?
Those who posted negative recviews were talking rubbish.
You have very good rooms, good service, good food.
What more can you want?
Ive stayed in the sunrise beach 3 times its really good ,there is a sunbed allocation system so once you have chosen them there yours for the length of your stay. The gym is good, the rooms are fine, the drinks are very expensive but they are in most hotels abroad.Ive been to protaras 7 times you will luv it.
just returned today it's exellent was there last year met kezzabelle this year you have made a good choice, before you hire the safe try 159a as the initial combination this might save you £14 for the two weeks
What about the connecting doors to other rooms. Is that true?
my room didn't have a connecting door, there may be rooms availiable if required, rooms were spotless. beds hard but thats the norm in hotels.
Just a quick Q ...
Is the below included in the booking cost or do you have to pay extra? Does anyone know? Especially the indoor pool.
The Aquarius Health Club, offers a host of facilities including a large heated indoor swimming pool, a squash court and fully equipped gym.
For those guests seeking pampering and relaxation, the Aquarius Health Club provides a Sauna, Steam Bath, Jacuzzi, Massage Room and a Beauty Salon, fully supported by professional staff.
Recreational facilities include: Two Foodlit Tennis Courts; Billiards; Table Tennis and Games Room.
Thanks a lot

You will have a great time ive been to protaras 7 times im going to benidorm next tuesday and then kafelonia on 22/8/06.Capo bay is a very nice hotel but you are more central in the sunrise.Last year i stayed in the lantiana gardens.Across from the capo bay hotel is some apartments called Pallini if you book there you have your breakfast in the capo bay and you can also use their facilities.
I will be getting married July 2007 at the Sunrise Beach. Can anyone give me any advice on what to expect ? What's the hotel like ? Where's the best place for my reception ?
i (21) am going to cyprus in august this year with my boyfriend (will be 23 the day we arrive). it is our first time visiting cyprus and we have decided to go to protaras and are staying at the sunrise beach hotel. i was wondering if protaras is suited to couples of our age and if there is plenty for us to do at night, we like going to bars and will eat out every night and may head out to ayia napa a couple of times if we decide to have a 'mad' night lol.
has anyone stayed at the sunrise beach hotel, we are staying bed and breakfast, we are staying in a side sea veiw room, i have read lots of good reviews on the hotel. i like the fact that they allocate your sunbeds for the whole of your stay as this is a big part of my holiday, although we also like to go on trips and browse around the shops in the day also. would anyone reccomend we stay in any particular part of the hotel like a high floor or certain side of the hotel for any reason, or does anyone have any other reccomendations or sugestions for us about the hotel or resort or anything eles?
i know thats alot of questions, if anyone can help with anything at all that would be really good and would be appriciated.
thankyou Linzi_Lou xxx
Is Protaras suited to couples your age?
You bet it is The strip is very busy with (ahem) younger people all through the summer.
thankyou really looking forward to it, got to work hard with studies this year so will be a nice welcomed break.
I've stayed at the Sunrise Beach three times, it's a lovely hotel. Your question about the side sea view rooms - they are all on one side on the hotel, if they are on the other side, they are classed as sea view or land view.
We always asked for a high floor room, as I just think it's nicer to be higher for the view. The 5th floor is non-smoking, we always had a 4th floor room. I would recommend requesting a room nearer the beach end, further away from the strip and closer to the sea for the views.
We always stayed bed & breakfast as well, the breakfasts are lovely, loads of choice of everything and a chef making fresh waffles, pancakes and fried eggs. You can have a good meal in there and not need anything else until the evening! (Although the hot dogs from the pool bar are lovely :D)
Protaras is a great resort, lively enough to be good fun, without being in your face all the time. Ayia Napa being so close to get to in a taxi or on the bus is good too, as it's a really diverse resort. Good bars in Protaras for fun are Zodiac and Bells (opposite each other on the strip), and the Love Boat for the comedy hypnotist show.
You'll be spoilt for choice with where to eat, there are loads of places, although see if you can get out of resort to eat where the locals do, it's cheaper and if they eat there it must be good!
If you can, do hire a car as well, it's lovely to get out and about, and there's so much to see. They drive on the left, and all the road signs are in English as well as Greek. It's easy to drive there, but watch out for other drivers, they sometime seem to have their own rules.
Any questions you've got or anything else you need to know, just ask on here or feel free to PM me.

hi, thanks for your reply kezza, i think i might ask for a higher up floor then, and like you say away from the strip as to get good veiws and not so much noise from the strip, although we probably wouldnt be in early enough most nights to hear any noise! ive never stayed in a 5* hotel before im really excited about it. it will be nice to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and look out at the veiws.
You really won't notice noise from the strip, we found that once we were back at night, we wanted to sleep and with the glass doors shut (and they have to be for the air-conditioning - you'll need it!) you don't hear anything
By the way, the Sunrise Beach is a 4* but it is nice.
Any questions, let me know.
Kezza
