Personally I wouldnt hesitate for Lake Garda but it does depend on what you expect out of a holiday.It is very pretty especially from Garda town upwards .If you like walks and a quiet drink and people watch it is wonderful.Lots of good trips from there to Venice, Verona ,Dolomites etc.The ice cream is about the only thing that is cheap but it is good, most things are that bit dearer than UK.
