thinking of going to this hotel next week but i see something in the hotel details that couples must show proof of marriage is this correct and is this standard for most hotels , as we are not married and are going on our first holiday together

i've read this elsewhere also but know quite a lot of people that have been to Tunisia as a couple(unmarried) and not been asked anything like it, but there are references to it elsewhere online and people have replied saying it's correct
:think

Be interesting to hear if anyone on here has been asked and what's then happened

I have traveled to tunisia for the past 10+ years always as a couple never married and never asked or questioned by hotel or had any problems with double rooms. Some hotels however do not have double beds but have always pushed two singles together again with no problems.
I have never heard any other couples in resort that have had any issue either? maybe a bit of an urban myth though i have seen some tourist info online that does mention it from time to time.

Hi all, new to the forums.

I'm going here next week, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the weather will be like?

Also is there anything to do other than the hotel all the time?

And is the married proof needed?

Welcome to HT nuttytigger

I'm going here next week, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the weather will be like?

The weather should be up around the low to mid 70s so still very pleasent, you can get a bit more info here http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=109917&start=0

Also is there anything to do other than the hotel all the time?

There is some info regarding the resort of Skanes earlier in this topic, Skanes is located close (a part) of Monastir and close to Sousse (visit the Medina and many local shops) and if you have a look at some of the various links in this topic you can find your hotel and get an idea of other things to do http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=147268

And is the married proof needed

No you won't need to prove you are married :tup

Well came back yesterday after a great fortnight!

We are already thinking of going back in September time next year, hopefully get in the pool then!

It was lovely and warm for sitting out, but because you couldn't get into the pool it was too warm.

Welcome back and I'm so glad you had a good time. I know we all look forward to reading your report on the hotel, and also the area itself if you have time.

Where do I put a report of the holiday? In this thread or is there another one?

Thanks

If you go to the top of this page you will see Hotel Reviews. Click on there then go to 'Tunisia' and you will see your hotel listed as Sahara Beach Iberostar. Click on that and you will see where to add your review. At the bottom there is space to add your review of the area if you feel like doing so. It is better if you put your name as we know you here rather than your real one so we all can recognise you.

I've done my review, how long until it shows up? and I did put nuttytigger lol.

Thanks a lot for that. It will go on the site very soon, just as soon as the mods have had a quick look at it.

I've just read your very comprehensive and excellent reviews, both on the hotel and the resort. Thanks so much for that, as it does help other members to make informed decisions.

Thanks, I think I covered everything! We have even cancelled a holiday to Mexico in order to go back next year!

You'd better watch out my girl or you may end up addicted to Tunisia as a few or us are on here. ;-)

Hehe, from 2004 - 2010 we went to Portugal every year, this was the first time we haven't went, and when we discussed changing the holiday to Tunisia again the first thing I said to my husband was "is this our new Portugal!"

Hello, we're off here for the first two weeks of the summer holidays :) Just checking if anyone has been here very recently - if men need to wear long trousers in the restaurant for evening meal? We will be a large group of 16 people, ages ranging from 1-40(ish!) Also the same old question re sunbeds peak season? What sort of time do you have to be up to get a good spot round the entertainment pool?! Thanks in advance for your help xx

Not sure about sunbeds as we were there in November and got some easily, but as far as I know you don't need long trousers in the dining room. My husband wore 3/4 lengths many nights and nothing was said.
