Hi i'm going to algarve in 3 weeks will I need a cardy for the evening? 22 degrees isn't that hot.
I am also going to the Algarve specifically Lagos in 3 weeks and you will need a cardy for the evenings sometimes. I say sometimes because ocaissonally the wind blows in the "right" direction and it is nice and warm in the evening/night.
How about Lagos in August, will we need a cardi then?
Yes because past experience has taught us that it can get cool and very windy in the evening in August, it may also be very still and very warm it isn't predictable.
Yes I agree. Lagos is a bit exposed to the elements and can be very windy. You might well feel the cold (relatively speaking) if it has been 30C during the day and drops to say 18C around 11pm.
What would the weather be like in ALVOR at the end od October please? Is it beach weather & dry ?
Many thanks
Thanks for the advice, I will take a cardi for me and the girls just in case.
Thinking of 3 or 4 days with friends mid to end of Sept, what will weather be like then. only been June time

Scroll down to 'History and Almanac' and enter your date(s); this will show you the actual recorded weather for that particular date in any given past year. You should be able to build a picture. This will probably show that April is one of the least dependable months of the year on the Algarve.

The first 3 weeks of October this year in the Algarve have been fantastic weather-wise with sunny cloudless skies and high temperatures. It looks like the first rains of October have finally arrived now though.
Too true. The storms on Monday that severely damaged the airport terminal building were the first bad episode and yesterday afternoon wasn't much better. It has been fairly blustery and showery this morning, calming down and clearing up now but still a few showers around. It looks like the weekend will be mainly dry and fairly warm
Although we are going to Albufeira in three weeks time and then to Tavira in October.
I did ask some years ago about the wind in Lagos and did indeed find it to be a bit cold to eat outside at night here, in Albufeira there seems to be a cold wind blow up that seems to ether last 3 days or some times 7 days but we do find we can put up with this and find a less windy corner somewhere.
I have to say the twice we have been to Tavira we have had the chance to eat out most nights only eating in when we go to a good restaurant that has no outside tables.
So what has this got to do with the weather ? well I have been looking at my phone and the weather for the three resorts seems to agree with what I know from going to these resorts.
Today at 8.30 pm the weather in Lagos was cloudy and sun and 13c, Albufeira was sunny and 18c, Tavira was sunny and 20c. 8pm to 8.30pm is when we like to have a nice meal after a wine or beer on the way to the restaurant, so although we like Lagos we don't think we will be going there for a two week summer holiday for a few years, Albufeira and Tavira may just have to put up we us on a two year cycle from now on.
Unless someone can tell us of another place like Tavira to try, well can you ?
Dave.
Does this wind still whip up in August please? Incidentally, I'm finding prices in both places very steep for next Summer
Helen, hello how are you these days? do you mean the wind in Lagos or Albufeira?
Hello! Hope you're both keeping well I think Albufeira would be more our cup of tea
Dave when you've been in Travira have you popped into Cabanas? We've stayed there and really liked it. It's only small but we like smallish resorts We've also stayed in Salema which again is small but has a lovely beach and some nice restaurants. I've stayed with my friend in Albufeira but we stayed in the Old Town.
