Just incase (excuse the pun ) anybody is interested this backpack is designed to fit the maximum lugguage size of most budget airlines and still gives 44 litres capacity.
It seems to be on offer at a good price today (please check other retailers first) and if you sign up to their newsletter you can get an extra 5% off ( 5life )

That looks like a good deal, and it looks like there's plenty of space there.
Any bag with those measurements will be 44 litres. Except that's where it goes wrong, because the airline rule says the bag has to fit inside a box with those measurements so the bag itself will take up some of the 44 litres. And it's got rounded corners which reduce capacity. So either it's too big or it doesn't have that capacity.
Because it's mainly only thin polyester, if they are the external measurements you can probably get close to 44 litres inside but if it's stuffed full the dangly bits on the outside will push over the limits and stop the bag going into the frame at checkin in, even if the bag holds it's shape and doesn't go lumpy. The rule says that all the bag including external parts - including handle and buckles - has to go in to the frame. So try and fill this up to 44 litres and you could be in trouble - especially with Ryanair since those measurements are right on their limit, others have a long side length of 57cm which would at least leave space for the handle.
The price seems to be a genuine discount, other places are selling it for £25-27 but don't try stuffing it to the limit!
hmmm...... lets do the maths here. 55cmx40cmx20cm = 44000 cubic cm. Which, as I remember from school, is 44 litres. Just looked at it. Clicked on the "already subscribed" and it let me in. I am not/have not subscribed by the way.
Thanks for that I've just ordered one Even better there was 10% cashback with quidco. I know what hubby'll be taking on the plane to Zante in a few weeks. That's a great site with brilliant offers.
I'll be getting one tomorrow too. Thanks for the Quidco tip Shirley
and you can pay through paypal so no fussing about looking for your credit card. It came to £11.95 including the delivery but that's without the cashback.
Coupon code "Murray 16" is not valid. Or does not apply to this product because it is already heavily discounted.
Helen don't put a gap between Murray and 16
Thank you - it worked fine £11.95 without Quidco cashback
I ordered a Tripneeds Trackerlock http://www.dealtastic.co.uk/previous-deals and it arrived within a week.
Again at a good price £13.97 for 2 as compared to Amazon £12.52 for one, an even better deal now £9.97 if you use Murray16 as your discount code.

looks great ive also ordered one today, happy travelling!
That's three of us sisters with the same bag
it wasn't critiscm, it was a warning. If these bags have the capacity claimed and you stuff them full there is a big risk of being pulled up at check-in, especially with Ryanair. The British attitude is that easy to read advertising trumps contract small print, then when things go wrong it's someone else's fault. It seems a very good price, just don't get carried away when packing.
I haven't tried it out as aircraft hand luggage yet but I'll be giving it to hubby to try out when we go to Greece in a few weeks. Thanks to Graham for the recommendation
