I'm stopping off in Mumbai for a night to break up my flight to Singapore otherwise i'd be stuck in the airport for 12 hours which I didn't fancy.
So being a rather prepared individual I went months ago to apply for my Transit Visa (I dont want to have problems getting another longer duration Visa in Jan). I was shocked to hear that transit visas only have a 15 day validity period meaning i'd have to send it off (allowing time for weekends) literally right before I fly! Why I can't send it off early and they post date it i'll never know!
So I fly on the 8th Aug, I went to the Visa place in Manchester on Monday (25th) and i'm sitting here freaking out waiting for it to show up on the tracking system on the website.
Has anyone else been through this before and did they get it to you in the stated max 7 days?? (Thursday the 4th being the 7th day).
"Your application is processed and sent to the offices of the Indian High Commission in the UK for further assessment. Please check our website http://www.in.vfsglobal.co.uk for further information on 'Processing Times'. "
Why send it from Birmingham down to London for further assessment? Does this usually happen??
