And my hubby! One pair is his "everyday" trainers - work mainly - and the other pair for best. On holiday its a pair of flip flops (the male version ) and a pair of trainers that go with everything hence why he gets a gets a new pair every year. We dont do the whole sports wear thing but trainers are practical for all sorts of reasons. Daughter has trainers because she is on the go all day and if there are any activities that she wants to to then flip flops or sandals just dont work. I dont take trainers on holiday but have invested in what we here in Bristol call "daps" just for something comfy to slip on if we are doing a lot of walking.
Exactly the same here - granddaughters don't like trainers, but have them for sports in school, on hols hubby only wears them on the plane to go and come back, if he's going for a long walk or riding a bike of some sort. I've had the same pair for around 4 years, and only wear them to work if it's raining and I can't wear sandals
i have about 20 pairs of trainers only ever really wear trainers on the plane tho or if im going to be doing a lot of walking, usuallly buy a new pair but i have about 4 pairs ive never worn yet so technically they are still new even tho i bought them ages ago
lancslass - what on earth do you do with 20 pairs of trainers?
i have 4 different pairs just for the gym (not that they get worn much) i end up buying new ones as others get tatty but i cant stop wearing the old faithfuls then ii have others that i only wear with short pants/jeans, hubby is worse than me tho
I buy two new bikinis for each holiday, then if they are not washed out, save them for the following year but never wear them a thrid year. Beach bag, bought a new one from Matalan after my old faithful MaxMara gave up and the world and his mother had it.So I have splashed out on an expensive one again and hopefully it'll last as long as my other one did.

Think I've nearly that many, can count 15 now off the top of my head but sure there's a few more in the bottom of the wardrobe
I travel in trainers, wear trainers in the evenings and wear trainers if going for a walk or on a trip, with havaianas for beach and pool. The trainers I take on holiday are sort of casual trainers or smart trainers, I do have sporty trainers for running and gym but I'm not one for wearing sportswear in the street
I would never take brand new trainers away - I get the horrible 'new trainers' phase out the way at home first!
i buy 3 new bikinis every year...same old beach bag...a denim one from topshop as I love it...flipflops sandals buy new all the time..just bought another 3 pairs 1 primark, 2 topshop..
