I keep reading that the pools are too deep to walk to the swim up bars in Mexico.

I love reading holiday reviews, some of the things people complain about, make me laugh It's like tonic.

I think we have seen them all over the years...
the hotel was full of foreigners
they only served foreign food
the sea went out every day
the sun was too hot
the sand wasn't yellow
some comment about local wild life [not the girls]
and my fave.. do they sell proper English food, is there a Mc Donald's, an Indian restaurant, a Chinese take away and or other combinations

After 21 days of Chinese food, twice per day on a tour of China some 20 years ago I would have given anything to have found a Mc Donald's or even better a Fish and Chip shop.

Sadly, it seems to be a proven fact after having worked in tour operator customer services for many years in UK that around 75% of holidaymakers leave their brains behind so they fit a couple of extra books or a pair of shoes in their suitcase

Sometimes I wonder if people can not live without Mc Ds I mean, what happens to them, do they get like withdrawel or something?
Another thing people moan because it's windy, what on earth do they expect people to do, turn of the wind so they can get to the beach? And than people maon about seagulls, you are near the coast, what do you expect?

I think if all the wind turbines (fans) they have offshore now were turned off the wind would be allot less

I've heard people complain about the number of locals in their hotels in Tunisia. When I've asked if they feel they themselves should not be allowed in a hotel in Bournemouth or Blackpool they've failed to see the logic.

My favorite is the 'hairdresser' one - love it

I am sure they are made up to make us laugh, people cannot be that silly.

Like Aslemma, I've also heard complaints about too many Tunisians in Tunisian hotels.

Also in Tunisia, I met a couple staying at a decent 5 star, who complained about nearly everything. The problem seemed to be that it just wasn't like hotels in England - simple answer to that I think...!

The best one I remember, was from a rep I met, while on a training week with a tour operator. She was the rep on call during the night for emergencies (I forget the resort she was working at). At about 2am she got a call from a woman who couldn't find her shoe. If that's an emergency, the mind boggles as to what she would do if something serious happened!

At first I thought 'no, these can't be true'.

But looking at the supposedly true additions other posters have shared, I think maybe there is just no hope for some people...

On a similar note I've just read two hilarious books on Kindle by Terry Ravenscroft. They comprise of letters he's made up and sent to various companies either complaining or enquiring about goods or services. I've spent the last week on my journey to work and back laughing and getting some rather strange looks from others on the bus.

Theres a few i'm come across either in real life or from reading online reviews.

1- "This onion ring tastes like squid" said whilst dunking calimari into Tomato Ketchup

2 - People who complain that the bacon/sausages/ham looks and tastes different when in the med

3 - On a plane after receiving the in flight meal "M,y friend told me to order the vegetarian option, as it's nicer but this is just vegatables and salad wheres the meat?"

4 - a review for a hotel in Corfu had a man complain that some people dried their swimwear and underwear on their balconies where his children could see them and he did not appreciate being forced to explain them to his kids

5 - Another review had the complaint that during the day, nearly everyone in the hotel was using the pool and in the pictures it was quieter

6 - The spirit measures given were larger than in the UK, so he got drunk and it was the hotels fault as he couldn't track how much he had drank.

I've just read this whole thread to my mum and we're in hysterics

Great to see these have surfaced again and love the new ones, especially the one about calamari, and the one about the vegetarian meal.
