I would imangine it will be either a hotel or shopping centre - depends when you go though as building/construction is not allowed in the main holiday season.

Its a new hotel, owned by the Delphin group, its nearer the Diva than the Palace, its the Delphin Imperial, not sure when its opening

The Imperial is opening april 2012 if your in lara go into the delphin palace and they have pic of the hotel its going to be big.

the news round lara recently is the delphin palace is to be sold off to make way for the new delphin imperial been built by side of the delphin diva with a shared facilities basis rumoured.

I`m on holiday at the Palace and would be very disappointed were it to be sold off. This hotel offers an excellent standard of holiday in almost all departments. The Imperial looks massive compared to the Diva, and my opinion would be that shared facilities between these 2 hotels would not appeal to many. We were thinking of booking the Palace for next year but probably not if it is sold. Selling the Diva would probably be a better idea as it is cramped compared to the Palace.
We are here till the end of the week so I will quiz some of the staff, I know some of them are hoping to work in the Imperial.
The pictures of the Imperial are in reception but as far as I know you would have to be staying at either the Palace or the Diva to access the hotel to see them, as you won`t get past security.

I agree with you tripper completely, but if the rumours prove right, then maybe delphin group are thinking the cost of running three large hotels in lara is a little too much with the current economic climate.we must bear in mind the plans and financial backing for the imperial will have been put in place before the global downturn of 2008. the delphin palace is the biggest of the two existing delphins in lara and oldest, with the diva being renovated in 2008, the palace is very luxurious. but diva from what i know scores very highly and ticks a majority of peoples boxes and is just as luxurious in its own right.

Thanks for that. I believe that the Diva was acquired and renovated as you say in 2008. The Palace was built around 2005 . Getting a few puzzled looks from staff when I ask them about the Palace maybe being sold. The hotel is very busy just now and you can`t book a late room.
