Have seen a cruise on the Marco Polo which sounds interesting. Sails out of Tilbury in January for 45 nights, visiting the Amazon, West Indies and the Azores. The price is £1899 which works out at just under £45 pp per day. Have only sailed once on a small ship (Louis Line) and wasn't overly impressed. The Marco Polo carries 900 passengers. So my first question is:
Has anyone sailed recently on the Marco Polo and what was she like? What about food, entertainment, facilities, etc., etc., etc.
My second question is:
Just how cost effective would it be to spend 45 days during the coldest time of the year in the UK on a cruise as against staying at home and paying for food, fuel, etc., etc.
Thanks for any help.
Rosalyn
We have sailed on the Marco Polo when she was with Orient Lines so too long ago to give an opinion on food, etc. However she was a good, stable ship and sailed through a Force 8 in the Bay of Biscay without us noticing it too much.
