Premier Inns currently have a £29 a night room sale on the go. We booked 2 nights, one at the sale price, and the second night at £62 which was a Premier flexible price.
Flexible prices are supposed to be amendable up to the day of arrival.
When I noticed less than a week later that my second night price had been dropped to £29 I called to have my flexible night amended.
Not possible because when you book with a sale night you lose the right to amend. can`t find it in the booking conditions and have asked them to varify.
So be warned don`t mix your booking, book your nights seperately if your want to have the right to amend the more expensive nights. This will be even more important should you have to cancel , you would normally be entitled to the flexible night price refunded but not if booked with a sale night.
I would certainly argue this with them. The reason you book the higher price Flexible rate is so that you can change or cancel it. If there is nothing in their T&C's about not being able to cancel if it is linked to a Saver room then I would contact Consumer Direct.
Tried over the phone on Friday, with no joy. The price is now creeping up and a change would now save me only £4 as regards to Friday when I would have saved £33. Had I known I would have booked separately, this just doesn`t seem right. I`m posting as a warning to others.
